  1. cant be a relay though can it. because the window goes up and down fine with no problem, just it wont go further than halfway down, as if the window thinks its at the bottom. will get the doorcards off tomorrow and check if its catching anything
  2. hey, iv tried using the search but cant find this same problem. the window work fine using the switch, up and down no problem. however, the drivers side will only go down about halfway and then stops. the switch works up and down everytime so surely cant be that. think that makes sense. any ideas cheers
  3. just thought. it depends what you want. if you want sq (sound quality) then follow above. if you want spl or streetbass (just total loudness of bass) then do this. back seats out, decent big sub in a huge ported box tuned to the right frequency. as before cant give you makes or models without a set budget, but let me no and i can help you choose. and as before, sound deadening is a must. and depending on power you are pushing, a second battery split charged may be nccessary
  4. right, 1st things 1st. sound deadening. no matter how much you spend on a ice system, it will never sound its best if you do not deaden the car properly. make sure that the doors and boot floors and boot lid are done at a minimum. 6x9 are a bit of a no go to be honest in the serious audio world. a decent set of component speakers mounted properly ( mids on mdf baffles in doors, n tweets in a pillars) run off a decent 2chanel amp will be fine for mid and high frequencies. depending on money and your headunit, run them active for even better performance and quality. get some1 to aim them to set the staging for you, because this makes a huge difference to quality. then a decent sub in the right sized box, powered by a separate amp. this will be more than enough in a small car like a lupo. without knowing your budget for the complete system i cant recomend any particular items. however i helped build, and have heard my mates system in a fiat 500 (similarly sized tiny boot, and it sounds amazing) comps and a decent small sub in a sealed box can sound mint
  5. hey guys, iv only just come across this thread but thought id post because it could help someone. if people are wanting to use there rear wiper switch as a switch 4 there boot solinoid, but are worried about opening it while they are driving by accidently pressing the button, there is a simple way to wire it in so it only works while the engine is off. if you run it through a relay it possible to get it to work while the engine is off but not work when the engine is running. we are going to use a 30amp change-over relay for this. what you need to do is tap in to the wiring for the rear wiper switch. run this to number 30 on your relay, then out of number 87a run a wire to your solinoid, or to your next relay if you are using a relay for your solinoid. put no wires onto number 87. this will then be a constant feed through the relay when it is in its un-energised state. if you want to cut of this feed, so that it doesnt work when you turn your engine on then you need to energise the relAY. to do this, you need to run a wire from 86 to an earth point (any part of the chassis or metal fixture) and then run a wire from 85 to an engine run wire (only current when engine is running) this will then energise the relay when the engine is running and cut off any current to the boot solinoid popper. i cant help you with finding a engine run wire as i have never had my lupo apart and worked on it, but there will be one to pick up on somewhere under the dash. if not, a simpler option to finding a engine run wire if you have no multimeter is using a feed off alternator positive to 85. so when the engine is off, the current is flowing from the wiper switch to the boot solinoid and opens the boot, but when the engine is running, the relay is energised and cuts off current to the solinoid, preventing any accidental boot openings at 70mph. hope that makes sense, if not i can do you a diagram. i just hope that it helps someone out lol rich
