    Mine hates 1st gear on a cold morning, even 2nd sometimes. Seems better if it's got a full tank of petrol for some reason, but changing all the filters/plugs etc is on my to do list since they are all overdue!

    Yeah I thought that too but never mind we can meet somewhere better perhaps when it is still light! Oh and when mine isn't dirty as hell!! BTW I'm sure your seats have had something done to them as I checked today and mine are as low and far back as they can go but are still miles higher than yours?!

    The TomTom adapter I've got fits fine, used it a few times in my GTI without issue, might be something stuck/bent in/on yours?

    Heh, mine was purchased from them by the girl I bought the car off, looks like she paid a little under £5k for it back in 2011. From what I remember her telling me it had already been bought and sold by them once before that too. I will get around to removing their sticker at some point....

    I think I'm the 6th owner on mine, an '02 plate. The girl who had it before me only did about 10k in 3 years or so but aside from service stamps and MOTs I've not really got any records of how well it was maintained during her ownership. The bloke who owned it before her on the other hand, from the random invoices I've got, seems to have only taken it to a VW garage and spared no expense!

    TBH I thought it was just the flash but having looked at it today it does appear so - I guess to match the door handles?

    Does anyone know where I can get the bit of plastic that fits over the transparent plastic on the end of the handbrake, as in the photo? Mine flew off and I cant find it anywhere in the car

    Lol no worries, maybe I'll see it in the flesh one day The silver one is a Y plate and must be the same one I saw about two months back in Hove, like you say there really aren't many about down here. My poor black one needs some TLC, need a decent local garage to change the rear wheel bearing urgently as it sounds horrible.... Anyway sorry to derail the thread haha...
