  3. It sounds like the throttle body needs to learn it's basic setting ( aided by a vag computer ) or is fcuked. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  6. Surely it will be a coolant temp sensor fault not a thermostat and it will have no real bearing on the oil consumption.
  7. Check the wiring from the cars A post to door. Check that the window lifter is still clampped to the window . Clamps can snap off lifter. To remove motor and lifter undo clamps off window then the bolts for the lifter/runners. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  9. I a bit of a git to do, you best make sure it's the right unit for your car and then hope it's ok style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh:" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
  10. We if you fit it before going to vw it will only take 20-30 max to code.
  11. Unlucky, it should not cost too much to fit the conrtol unit but the unit will cost a few quid.
  12. If the light or fault has been eraced just leave it. Do the first two lines of the fault code read out go on about supply voltage.
  13. All air bag realated conectors are yellow but that is not the only thing that can put the light on. If the voltage supply to air bag ecu or commuication from dash or engine ecu is lost this will put the light on.   15. It helps to be a geordie when saying I D modds I thought of this name as a garage name as my name is Ian Dodds and i like to think i can do mods.   16. Check the wiring harness from the A post of the car to the front of the door when it's open and check for broken wires. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  17. Your coil spring has snapped, it may be worth replacing the top strut mount bearing when the sping is replaced. The car may just be pulling to one side as the spring is broken. If the strut is removed from the hub you will needed to the alinement any way.   18. The fault ca'nt be the head lights if both have the failed at the same time. It's more than lightly be a comen link like the the high beam stalk or head light switch. Good luck keep us posted. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blink:" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

  20. Its the ignation switch or starter. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
  21. Sounds like its misfiring or the throtle body needs cleanning if it's a petrol engine.
  22. Posiable the ignation switch or starter if the battery OK or the immobiliser. Good luck

  24. I it was a nice day for a drive out and good to meet some of club lupo even if i was a bit late !!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  25. Air bag systems are very sensitive so just erase the fault and see if it comes back if so do some thing then. Do not check it with a multi meter at all if you do not know what you are doing. That fault can be caused by low battery or poor live or earth.
