  1. Not quite a ritual but..... I've got a small pocket sized bible in my car. I've no idea where it came from but I had a phase about 10 years ago where my work van became a magnet for people driving into it & doing me some serious harm. One day after cleaning it out this bible just appeared on my seat (Im sure it was a lad a work having a laugh), however I've never had an accident since & I've kept it in every car I've owned since then! God watches Top Gear!
  2. That sounds so familiar
  3. Cheers mate, I know they're not to everyones taste but they are only winter rims. Im just trying to fight the urge to colour code the centres
  4. Windscreen packing bags are perfect for the job as they are huge & very thick, just go to your local autoglass etc & they'll give you loads of their old ones!
  5. Let be honest most if not all of this cr*p is down to 'political correctness' or this pathetic 'softly softly' country we now live in one way or another. All this bull about you cant smack your children to discipline them, you cant say this, you cant that because it might offend someone (no matter how true it is). If I was a little b*stard I got a proper whack & told what was what, it certainly hasn't done me any harm! If someone is a lazy chav scum dole scamming piece of sh*t why is there always someone who will say 'Oh no, they are a mis-understood product of depravation' etc? 9/10 like Kam says, they're wearing better clothes than I am & enough gold (albeit sh!t) around there necks to sink a ship! This country needs to grow some balls to stand up to these kind of scumthat now seem to thrive in our communities, and say 'Get in line or get f*cked'. If you dont contribute anything to society why should you expect to reap the benefits (quite literally)? I cant believe how long some these 'misunderstood' or 'bored' people tend to be claiming benefits for, after a certain amount of time they should be forced to do something even if its planting flowers in the local park for a couple of hours a week. It should then also stem their boredom too, for a little while at least.
  6. Well here she is finally in 'winter' guise, I just need to get her serviced then I can slam the coilovers right down
  7. I had this problem with mine, although it wouldn't move to the 'feet' position. in the end it was just brute force turning the dial that got it round & it's been fine ever since.
  8. Probably a better idea, but it took me ages to find somewhere to do the powdercoating so God knows how long it will be before I find someone who can do that!. (I did use google before any smart ass says something!)
  9. As above the engine code should be AMF, I have no idea where it's located on the block though.
  10. At the end of the day the springs could go on the car as they are it's just me being a little fussy. I just cant see how that cost can be justified against the cost of getting a wheel done, especially as the finish doesn't have to be as good (they are under the car after all!).
  11. I was under the impression that I needed it powdercoated rather than just painted for that exact reason
  12. I've got a set of 4 coilover springs that I need stripping & powdercoating, I'd rather use somewhere local as it saves having to package & post them up + the extra cost etc. Best quote I got was £30 a spring! Now when I compare that to a wheel which costs the same to refurb Im thinking that price is a a bit steep? Opinions?
  13. ^^^ Thats different stuff to what I was thinking about, is it waterproof or at least moisture proof?
  14. I was thinking more of the actual wool rather than pellets as I dont think the board can be flexed or bent to fill the spaces properly.

    1" radinox?

There's a guy on ebay who sells them in all sizes, he ships them from Germany & aren't that much more than normal ali dishes.
  16. Saw two this weekend round town, one in the obligatory silver with dark silver/grey side panels & another that looked totally awesome in white with black panels. Didn't manage to get any pics as I was driving, but I wasn't even expecting to see one for a while let alone two!
  17. Im already talking to the bodyshop about getting the handles, doorstrips & mirrors sprayed as they are just plain black at the moment. Strangley though the interior mirror covers are already painted
  18. Damn yanks will lap up any old sh*t wont they?!
  19. I thought under the circumstances it might be a little rude to complain!
  20. That's the stuff I used to use, but I've lost my connections at Sunseeker now so its going to cost about £50sq/m which (despite how good it is) is bloody expensive! This is why I was thinking of filling some large, thick plastic bags with rockwool & sealing them up so they could be pushed into the rear panels (a bit like large pillows)
  21. I took out for a little drive last night & to be honest its perfect for the area I live in. The engine is suprisingly nippy for a 1.0 & after driving for the last 2 years with coilovers & having to slow right down for speedhumps, dips in the road etc it was like floating in a cloud driving it! Big balloon tyres & high suspension for the comfort win!
  22. This is what £1250 can buy you. It even came fully valeted, washed & waxed with a full tank of fuel!!!
  23. Decided to take the Cinquecento out for a blast to clear the cobwebs before I sell it, bloody thing hasn't even been touched in 6 months let alone driven so I thought it would be a good idea to give it a clean etc. Only problem was I never made it the jet wash..... Car started on the button & ran perfectly so I waited for it to warm up & then went to set off, only problem was I didn't move anywhere, damn brakes had seized on it again due to it sitting so long! A little wd40 & a gentle tease with a hammer & they were all released ready to drive off, so I've hopped in taking it easy as the brakes haven't even been bedded in. Things were all going fine except the brakes felt a little 'solid', but I put this down to them not being used for ages. I thought it would be a good idea to take the back rounds & try a couple of emergency stops to check they worked fine.... Big mistake! Doing about 40mph I hit the centre pedal the car nose dives, then suddenly the brake pedal hits the the floor & I go veering off to the left nearly going up the pavement & wiping out a load of parked cars! Thankfully (God knows how) I managed to rip the handbrake up which stopped me just in time otherwise it would have been very messy. After a little time to pull myself together I looked into the OSF wheel well & there's brake fluid everywhere, then smoke starts pouring out the engine so I put the bonnet up & there's brake fluid everywhere in the engine too! After getting it towed home a quick inspection it looks like the OSF brake lines have literally exploded as I've stamped on the brakes! Im still a little stunned now & cant believe how lucky I was not have hit anything, to say I filled my pants would be a major major major understatement!
  24. Aftermarket head units sometimes beep through the main door speakers. No idea why it would suddenly start though!
