  1. Still have the problems from before but this is to expand on the Turtle Wax Black Box. It doesn't remove scratches or swirl marks so you still need to use a good polish beforehand. I didn't have time or have any at the time so I clayed mine instead. The product itself is really easy to use. You get a pre carnauba wax which is useful. Easy to apply although use your own applicator pad as the one they give didn't seem that good, it can sometimes be stubborn to remove. The actual carnauba wax is lovely, smells lush. Easy to put on and goes for miles with the pad they give you. It also comes off quicker than saying because. It also comes with 2 fairly large microfibres towels which is great and a black tinted quick detailer. It says to use with the towels when buffing off each product but its easier not too. It is quite good for afterwards though Before I did this I thought the car was clean but after doing this I realised the paint was all cloudy and misty, this really bought the shine and the deepness of the black back and made it mirror like. Really really reflective it's cheap as chips on eBay and its the legit thing. Any black car owner won't regret buying this, it takes a long time but its worth it can make you feel light headed though from the fumes so do it well ventilated and take a break every now and then
  2. Right so today and yesterday I changed the discs to some shiny brembos and the pads to some nippons didn't bleed them as the nipples were rock solid and didn't want to risk breaking them. Sorted out half the bumper issue but didn't have the time to wip it all and put it back on. Now when we lowered it back down and test drive it the noisy/buzzing suspension has swapped sides haha. I think it's just the tops where the spring sits isn't quite seated properly?? Also the rear left side now has a rotational grinding? Even though we didn't touch the rear of the car so I'm thinking something in the drums? But good news is I used the Turtle Wax Black Box and it is fantastic. Snowfoamed the car first then 2BM, clayed it while it was wet so smooth! Then dried it all. Used the black box kit and OhMyGod! What a change. Bought the colour right back to life. Fully recommend for black car owners
  3. So I reckon it's time to change the plugs and leads in the new car coz it has quite a rough idle and splutters at low down revs. I'm only assuming plugs and leads since my old car neaded news ones Any other ideas as to what the problem is? It's quite a rough idle. Very up and downy but the rev counter doesn't move? Anyway, back to plugs and leads I was thinking of getting standard NGK plugs and just some eBay leads. That's what I got last time and they've lasted more than a year, possibly not NGK plugs though. So basically, what could be the cause of the rough idle and what's the best plugs and leads for a 98 1.4 arosa Cheers guys
  4. It's never gonna be used again so some more farmer logic is to smash a screwdriver through it and turn it with that. The new ones are only suppose to go on hand tight anyway. Which is why you put some oil on the rubber seal, so as long as you have dry hands to put it on you'll be fine Edit: hand tight with and then a very minor tighten with a suitable spanner
  5. Just jack it up and stick a wooden log next to it. Farmer logic
  6. Thanks but I don't think they are, the sportex exhaust is made for the 1.4 so it was a little longer than where the 1.0mid section ended so I had to cut a bit off. Cheers though
  7. God knows haha. I think it's a dual action one, its my grandads, the kind that's kinda of centre and spins around all over the place haha
  8. I don't even know what I mean haha. Well today has been putting the old arosa back to standard and swapping pieces over onto the new one with little things like LED sidelights and things like that. Anyone know the cheapest place to get a mid silencer for a 1999 seat arosa 1.0l? That's the last thing I need before I can put it up for sale. Things to do for the new arosa: Brembo discs and pads (unless any other cheap suggestions?) Refresh the brake fluid De-tango the cambridges Sort out the bumper with some new clips New plates Find some 60mm rear springs Sort out the chuffing exhaust joint with some exhaust paste Find out what this weird noise is coming from the front driver side coilover ( it's sort of like a buzzing like the wheel is catching but it shouldn't be, or the shock is worn? Also you can feel it through the throttle... Any help guys?) Last but not least give her a good run over with a machine polisher and a hand treatment of turtle wax black box ( unless any other suggestions? ) Also what would be the best polish to use with the machine polisher to get rid of some light-medium sized scratch and swirl marks? Sorry for the essay of writing. Cheers guys, Joe
  9. Just a set of standard vented brembos, normal pads and some clean dot4. That's what I'm doing. As long as the rear drums work leave em alone. Maybe paint them up a nice colour instead of rust
  10. Shocking news! Bought a new car, another Mk1 Arosa 1.4 petrol, 98 reg, 62K on the clock, front coilies and rear shocks+springs. All that plus 7 boxes worth of stuff haha. All for the tidy price of £700 courtesy of Tracey on here. Needs a good blast with a machine polish, a good hoovering, engine bay needs tidied up and a few bits and pieces neatend up and it'll be a beauty might even buy a Turtle Wax Black Box and treat it. Bad news, laptops fuggered so need to wait for that to be fixed before any pics appear Joe
  11. My driver side door lock hasn't work since Christmas. Park it in town and all sorts. Nobody notices
  12. Why not it's something different that hasn't been done much. Isn't it all about the little details.
  13. yeah that would be the plan for the giant reverse lights haha, then just buy some of those chrome look tinted indicators but flash orange
  14. So we all know the cambridge lights have a clear indicator strip, how many people have actually swapped the reverse light and the indicator lights around? Surely its only swapping 4 wires over and changing the bulbs around? Whats peoples opinions on this?
  15. See drilling a hole makes sense. I wouldn't have thought if that haha
  16. I tried insuring a lupo as my first car. It was twice as much as an arosa. Save yourself some money and get an arosa which is basically the same
  17. I like it. A can imagine it making a nice spluttery mist though in the morning after a good rain
  18. Right so typical me asking questions and what not, but as mentioned before I have the chance to fit those speakers in the next few weeks (hopefully) but I need to know which spacers for the coaxial speakers I need Also are the tweeters a direct swap or do I need to modify the original holders in anyway? Cheers peeps, Joe
  19. I bet that's a tight fit haha I bet that's a tight fit haha
  20. Loving the exhaust. Where is it from?
  21. Just upload it but block out any number plates and names
