  1. Hi there, I think your prices are very reasonable for your bits and bobs and i'm sure someone will buy them, however I think a few photo's would work wonders and get a better response cheers stevie
  2. Car weights are as follows 1.0 884kg SDI 973kg 1.4TDi 984kg GTi 1032kg Cannot shed any light on the differences in the suspension tho' cheers stevie
  3. Well why don't you remove your passenger seat which is easy and quick, pop over to your mates and try his seat in yours, the front bolts should fit in easy and the rear wheels hopefully drop into the channels and slide back and forward, if they don't slide but do fit in the channels then it may be that the very lowest part of the frame is digging into the carpet and not allowing the wheels to sit and slide as they are supposed to, you will be able to see this part of the frame digging in and will then know which part may need grinding off to achieve your goal of lovely tombstones in your tdi, have a wee haggle over the price and the jobs done Hope this helps a little cheers stevie
  4. Oh alright then £30 for bolts and spacers, have you got a number and postcode so I can work out how to get to you probably tomorrow around morning time if thats ok with you cheers stevie
  5. If you still have the spacers and 6 bolts i'll give you £25 for them, am just up in Whitley Bay so could pop down easily to get them let me know cheers stevie
  6. I would agree with silver, I was looking for a rack recently and paid £60. for one which I was pleased with, add on about half price for the bikey bit and you are aboot £100, which I would pay if I did'nt already have one, I am not trying to affect your sale but if you want to sell it its best to go for an affordable price and you can even sell them separatly which may help get them away. good luck stevie
  7. I had the same budget as you and there are plenty GTi's out there for you to choose from, I looked at several before getting the one I fancied just a few weeks ago, lots of owners are asking stupid money for their's you see them all the time and they do not sell, if a car is at a good price then it should sell within a week. Don't forget to check out its MOT history at the DVLA, do not buy the first one you look at, have a good test drive and most of the cars will have summit wrong with them at this budget little scratchs etc so be realistic, you will have to travel to see them I think but the more cars you look at the better your knowledge and you can compare one against the other look at more expensive one's as well to see if you get a better car for the money Many times you do not its just the owners over estimate of its value. Be wary of paying extra for mod's you do not want, Try and get one with as few owners as possible and you will get the car you want, its a buyers market out there at the moment so do not pay more money than your budget allows and you should get a wee beauty enjoy and good luck
  8. Do you still have the spacers, and if so have you got long bolts with them or not cheers stevie
  9. Ahhh! in that case i'll give you £65 for the disc's and carriers, since they are unbranded, 2nd hand, no warranty, let me know cheers stevie
  10. Do they tilt forward, and is that some stains in the middle of the drivers seat base, and how much for sale with no part ex cheers stevie
  11. The disc's look good but what make are they as there are cheap one's and pricey one's, how many miles on them as well cheers stevie
  12. If you still have the brake set up then a couple of pictures would be nice to give me an idea of its condition cheers stevie
  13. They are the same diameter for the disc, but the disc's are different thickness's, the GTI are 5mm thicker, which in turn makes the pads thinner I think you can use the pads in any set up as you would just push the piston further back to fit the pad. cheers stevie
  14. Bit of info reqd, how old are they, is there a model number on them to enable a wee check of how much new they are and whether or not they will fit a GTi and get the pictures up soon cheers stevie
  15. I agree with you Big Jase, proper uprated dampers and matched springs will give the most handling improvement. By the way what did you have installed cos I might go the same way please cheers stevie
  16. Meaby you have a problem with your car, as I have a standard GTi and as long as I am smooth in the corners it is very very nice and handles a treat. At some point I will be going for a rear arb and some uprated sports suspension which is what i'm after but not coil'es as they are way to bouncy for my mature taste. Are your bush'es all nice and tight on the sussy arm's as if they are past there best then your handling goes down the toilet.
  17. Get it in writing if possible even if they say no or yes, you can always mention that your solicter has recomended that it be covered in writing. A vw dealer would normally honour the warranty, as soon as they have to put their name to a letterhead it makes them think twice about their response. good luck stevie
  18. Thats quite a few miles compared to others out there, I would say that if you put it up at £2000 you would not get many takers and would be stuck with the car for a while, however if its at £1500 then you would probably get £1250 for it very quickly, which if you want it sold then take the money and run lad. It depends on the other cars out there at the time your selling yours and how it compares to them but give it a try and see what happens cheers stevie
  19. I have now withdrawn from the sale of the other roof rack on the forum and would like to buy yours. I'll give you £70.00 for it posted to my lovely wee house, if that is acceptable then please send me your bits and bobs, and I presume you will want paid by paypal, just let me know, cheers stevie
  20. Hello again, still waiting on clarification from you but nowt received, so I am withdrawing from the sale of your roof rack as I do not feel confident in buying it stevie
  21. Hello again, as of Tuesday morning at 10.00am I have no messages from you so please send again cheers stevie
  22. Hi I'm looking for a rack but you would need to post it, I've offered to buy one on the forum here but don't think its going to work out as he has'nt got back to me, so i'll give it a day and then if you want to sell and post to me then that would be smashing you did say collect only but i'm too far away to collect. Have a wee think and let me know if you can be bothered to post cheers stevie
  23. Hi again, come on still waiting on you coming back to me with the proper price as advertised, if you don't want to post them then just say and I will look elsewhere cheers stevie
  24. As far as I know pads are slightly different to accommodate the different disc sizes on the cars, the disc's are also different thicknesses which in turn makes the pads different thicknessess so be a bit carefull what you get there is a thread on here that gives details so have a wee lookey. cheers stevie
  25. Your pictures are of the outer joint and boot, chances are this is gone, drive on full lock in a car park inboth directions, is there a difference in the noise from each side when its weighted one direction will be nastier than the other, you've also probably got grease on the brake disc which means that you are braking on one disc only ie half braking force so take it easy the outer joint is probably gone by now as it will have dirt in it which is grinding away as you tootil along trying to figure out what the problem is hope you get it sorted as it can be tricky to identify cheers stevie
