i only did the inlet was as it was blowing from the join, might be able to reach behind there with a spanner without removing much!

Sdi down pipes are annoying. I had lots of extension bars to get mine off. but i ended up taking the inlet off to tighten it up

depends how competant you are. i changed one on my sdi, it was awkward but i managed on my drive with me and a mate, a jack axle stands and some wood.

Help! White Smoke from Exhaust

you have no lambda sensor as its a derv, you just Cut and weld in pipe and it wont be that loud lol ive ran diesels with no silencer and they sounded fine. its not really a cat its just some filter to help stop soot, which you won t get much off as the fuelling is all electronically controlled. removing the cat has no effect on fueling on these. aha seriously just bash out the innards of the cat and put it back on, you will save yourself so much money and it wont really effect the car apart from potentially giving the exhaust gas an easier flow out -
Help! White Smoke from Exhaust

just bash the innards out, it will be alreet even for MOT aslong as thge chambers there. SDI's are pretty good on emmisions as it goes. -
may-swell use regular power-flex bushes, they are probably harsh enough and perfect for whatever you'd use on the road.

a nice progression. looks very tidy!

the cam cover on the AFH looks MUCH better.

i could have gotten another 10 miles outta the tank. but i didn't fancy my chances, probably woulda bumped it into the 60's but im pleased with that. aha Join the MK2 crew koop

they come up occasionally, usually new & not used, i wouldn't pay no more than £40 for them Absolute tops if you HAD to have THEM. £25 £30 is reasonable and what people usually ask for

Piston rings or valve stem seals?
James827 replied to Afksam's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
if your doing it yourself then do stem seals, but the Head needs to come off! its probably stem seals they are the most likely. -
it will all fit and should be good, (they share gasket sets) you know Mitch's grey lupo? (pink/purple inside, polished bonnet etc?) that had a GTi bottom, 1.4s box. AFH head, and either ITB'S or carbs. ive heard it goes very well. its all oddball, but the afh is like an early sleeved down GTI with no VVT (better without) you cant use GTI cams as you need the keyway for the distributor.
