  1. Blue tac on a piece of wire/stick. Has worked for me before
  2. This happened to one of my mkV polos. Replaced the locking mech, and had no more problems
  3. Credit to the emergency services, air ambulance pilot was amazing. I'd literally just moved away from the strip when it happened, but friends stood on the opposite side saw it and said it was horrific The announcers on the tannoy were very careful about what they said but I know one of the injured had a fractured pelvis.
  4. times Times Congrats on the award
  5. Im really not very technical savvy when it come to suspension- but a tiny little ring on one of mine started moving around, it's hard to explain but this tiny thing sort of held the shock in place, it slipped up, and it meant my shock could come straight up (popping the little mount cover off) I brought them second hand, I guess the person before me managed to dislodge the bit by hitting a pot hole- or maybe it was just a general fault. Anyway It's a long shot but might be worth checking on yours.
  6. yeah its been proper battered bits and pieces falling off
  7. my boyfriend works for VW, and is always getting sent down to Milton Keynes for different training courses. hes a serive advisor tho, so he does different training. ive seen a few photos and the place looks awesome (if youre a vw fan lol) tech wise - well I know that theres like every model car VW have made there, all there for the purpose of training people on, just swapping parts and all that. keep an eye out for the Hulk Touran from Tokyo drift lol
  8. It's ok if you ever have any more problems just let me know and we'll get it sorted for you
  9. Length wise they fit, but youd need a different fitting kit
  10. well that sucks!! My car was registered in Jan 2001. so i should have lower tax like the guys with polos registered in 2000 boo mr. tax man
  11. its the same with the mkV polo GTIs. the very early ones have a slightly lower tax band then the later made ones (they were only made for 2 years :/ 2000-2001)
  12. wow. sounds like the police where you are suck as much as they do where i live my car was broken into last year, i phoned the police and was told theyd be right out. they never came. 4 hours later i phoned them up to ask them when theyd be out as i needed to go get the window fixed and was told 'oh they dont think it would be benificial' my boyfriend's bike was taken the year before (cost over a grand) and they never came out. the only reason he got the bike back was cos he hunted out the little srote that took it. a car parked in my drive way...full blown meters past the gate. they did nothing. but when my boyfriend twit of a neighbour phoned to complain about a car parking infront of his dropped curb (the car was infront of his garden, so wasnt even blocking his drive) and they came out Three times over the weekend to get the car moved!!! the policeman that came out to see you sounds like a right gerk. how dare he be rude about your car. and make up such sh*tty excuses about how the screen broke. hope you get the parking ticket thing sorted out!
  13. Urgh! same. we find alsorts of nasty stuff by the one entance of our drive. theres a school/college opposite from my house, for foreign kids. my garden seems to the hang out spot for them. i drove up my drive one night and spotted some people stood at the other entrance, so i drive down there, open the window and told them where to go. I followed them out of the drive in my car, then turned around down the road, and drive back up the way i had orginally driven up. only to find the kids had come straight back (obviously thinking when i drove out i was leaving for good) cheeky w***ers
  14. Your best option is breakers/eBay/breakers on eBay. I was going to get some straight from VW as my boyfriend works there so I get a discount. How ever it was still stupidly expensive. Something like £170- £190 each ( and that's with my discount and was a few months back before VAT went up)
  15. some of the newer VWs have that sort of headrest i think the ones i tried were out of a golf. and the new fox has em and a few others
  16. As already stated it's a coin holder. If you look in your handbook there should be a fold out which tells you what all the dash bits are ....tho I use mine for holding my headunit remote
  17. Over taking an old guy doing 35 in a 60 on a straight road, who then puts his high beam on justas you pass, is pretty damn annoying. was going along my road the other day, and a chap coming the opposite way flashed me, I looked at him and he holds up 3 fingers, I gues telling me that it was a 30mph area .....which I knew pretty damn well considering I was doing about 32. That narked me off loads, if I had of been speeding fair enough, but I wasn't! I had evil thoughts about him I've yelled out the window before at a bad driver for doing something dangerous, and I'll beep when nessessary, road rage isn't great, but sometimes I think idiotic drivers really need to be sat down, given a good telling off, and a nice hard slap across the face. I swear most people where I live have forgotten that you give way on roundabouts to the cara on your right, and I know none of them know how to use indicators.
  18. I'm sure they will be fine! if the worse comes to the worst I can see how much it'll be from VW with my boyfriends discount. I've found a lot of things cheaper thru VW then the internet, or other car parts stores
  19. They ask the same for the polo GTIs. I've only know of one apparently coming from factory with the rain sensors, but I think that was foreign. It does mean that some people have been able to retrofit the rain sensors, buy getting the glass and the correct mirror and wiring. If your getting the glass from Worcester autoglass they are pretty decent, they ordered in glass for my passenger window when my car got broken into, they pointed out the glass wasn't 100% perfect, so left it in and ordered me the glass from VW and fitted it as soon as it arrived to them. so I woulnt have thought they'll give you many problems if you turn around to them an say it's wrong
  20. I wouldnt worry yourself. if he was in that much of a rush he wouldnt have been able to stop and talk to you. i get road rage most days, (you know Malvern, the drivers here are completely idiotic dangerous twits, who drive in their own little worlds). Its fair enough you were annoyed. he didnt have the right to do what he did, regardless of preggers pains
  21. Great photos I also really like the photos of the Golf, the photos on her thread from this shoot are amazing
  22. Can you get anyone is your house to do multicar with you? And can you add your mum or gf to your policy as a named driver. My boyfriend got his dad to do multicar and put me on his insurance, and he got hundreds knocked off. Just over £100 a month for a 21 year old driving a modded mkV golf ed30 isn't bad at all. Otherwise try Sky insurance, that's who my bf used to be with on his old g40 that was the lowest for him by far at the time.
  23. Nooooo don't tell me you were at BVF?! I'm sure you went last year, and I missed seeing it then, and was all gutted back then. And gutted now. Boo Argh I want to see your car in person so bad!
