Skezza
I must admit, if this is actually true then we'll all be amazed. There's a hell of a lot of work in a Lupo 1.8T conversion. It's not just an in-out straight swap like other engine swaps. There's a lot of work making it right. Just look at the other threads on Club Lupo.PSI Tuning, a company near where I live, are some of the UK's leading experts in VAG tuning and engine conversions. They will do a professional Lupo engine conversion, they charge 5 grand and want it for longer than 3 weeks though, so you can understand why we're all sceptical. They included sourcing and re-building an engine in that though.

Skezza
I suppose one way he could get round all the welding work is by simply gluing the extra mount points and brackets using Liquid Nails? Perhaps chemical metal? Then you wouldn't need to spend all that time welding and being careful etc...?Not sure about the structural integrity, but we'll leave that up to HJLUPO. Skezza
Is it this weekend or sometime next week? Karl is booking his in immediately after then I'm straight after that. Theoretically, he'll be knocking out 1.8T conversions at a rate of one every three weeks and at that price he's practically giving them away. That's pretty impressive to be fair Dblock.
