This thread is full of fnarr already, nice work chaps. As Rich says, the clip is pinched on so you'll need to loosen it by sticking a screwdriver in the gap & twisting. You'll see what I mean. I used a set of carpenters pincers to pinch it back up after I'd changed my gaiter, though I'm sure there must be a more properer tool for the job.

Thanks for the advice, i used a screwdriver to loosen the clip and take it off, once its off, the gear knob come`s off quite easily, but i pretty much ruined the clip, so i just bought a new fuel line clip, ( a jubilee clip would do, but a fuel line clip is not as bulky ) and used that, simple, job done. :)
