Deadmetal
You're getting "scrubing" on smaller tyres than pretty much every one who runs 7j or 8j tyres and also are quite happy to sacrifice grip, safety and handling to save a couple of quid. How about looking at where you're getting scrubbing, it'll be easy to spot in on the tyre, and sorting it out, rather than putting smaller tyres than standard on the car. Surferdude0702
I have, I can see the signs of scrubbing on the side of the tyre wall, hence why I'm getting small tyres, if you have a problem with that then its fine, in the end of the day its my car, I can't afford to go spending £70-£80 on each tyre
Deadmetal
So between sorting the arches out, that being the problem, or putting smaller tyres than come fitted as standard you're choosing to spend money in a false economy.........I give up. Sammy Lupo
I run 165/40/16 on my6.5j
Dubmuffin
Mr Surferdude, it may be worth rolling the arches, can be done with a hammer and a heat gun. This way, it may help you the fact your rubbing now, but failing that when you want to go lower (which you will ) then it's one less job for the future..Best of luck kid
Surferdude0702
I've already rolled them using an actual arch roller haha, why im putting slightly smaller tyres on so once its mot'd I can get it lower again as she is pretty high at the moment, Cheers Dubmuffin

heartagram
Question is how many of the people only running cheap tyres have run good quality tyres? They do make a difference, even more so in the wet. Nankangs are alright in the dry, at best, but they are nothing short of totally **** in the wet. I had them on my Vento purely because no one else did that size, but I hated the tyres.
DannyParanoid
I've got 165/50/15 nankangs on my 7j wheels and I've never had a problem with them, in the wet or the dry
