Car Tax

Hello all,

If this is in the wrong place i apoligise in advance, but here goes.

so ive just ot myself a vw lupo, transferred into my name, but the tax was registered as disabled by the previous owner, what do i need to do to get the car taxed on normal tax so i start tootling about?

Any advice appretiated :)

Google says: "What you need to do is to tax it at your local DVLA office, not the post office. Fill in the V5 notifying change of keeper and taxation class to PLG and give them that at the same time you're taxing the car. Tell them what you're doing, i.e changing from disabled to PLG and taxing it. They'll do the lot at once in the right order."

Only now will you see the incompetence that is the DVLA

I've never had anything less than excellent service at my local VRO. SAdly, DVLA are after closing the local offices and move all work to Swansea and that will make service awful. The existing postal a telephone services are dreadful enough as it is; placing extra demands on the already inaccurate and unaccountable staff there will render them virtually useless.
