fag lighter not charging tom tom

It does what it says on the tin. Ive checked the fuse under the dash thats fine any ideas cheers. Or is there anyway of wiring tt into the the car thanks

Is there a fuse in your charger at all? does the 12v charge any other devices?

You can hardwire the satnav in yes but its hard/expensive.

Have you wiggled the charger about in the socket? (not a euphamism)

Mine sometimes doesnt charge unless its in the correct position

Failed cigarette lighters are a common problem, I'm yet to hear of anyone fixing one though!

I know you've already checked the fuse, but I blew mine trying to use an old tyre compressor, so just give it a double check. Apparently they blow easy with older gadgets.

IIRC the interior light is on the same circuit as the fag lighter, so if thats out you know its fuse or wiring related - someone should confirm ths as its been a while since iv been near a lupo.

Try another charger to rule out a faulty socket - and as said above your charger may have a fuse in it.

At the end where that metal bit pushes in, the black cap will screw off and it will all come apart and reveal the fuse, iv had them come lose and not work in the past.
