curly custard
Hi,Noticed DT has a fitted free deal on Pipercross induction kits so may consider this as a quick upgrade to performance.Question is what are the pro's...As per the blurb improved acceleration and increased BHP/Torque - BUT how much more BHP for a 1.4 Sport (100BHP)Much affect on insurance?Cheers
Koop
BHP - a couple.Insurance - will get stung by most insurers, give yours a call.
curly custard
Cheers Koop - probably not worth it then - better to keep the remap fund growing.
Koop
A lot of people do run induction kits, helps the engine breathe better & makes a nice noise lol just don't expect a big difference on a rolling road!
scotty_82
Surely a remapp will affect your insurance just as much as an air filter ?
curly custard
Surely a remapp will affect your insurance just as much as an air filter ?True - but in the scheme of things remap = £195 for 12-14BHP + torque + throttle responce vs induction kit = £100 for 4BHP - yep both will affect insurance but remap appears better option...And as an almost senior citizen insurance is not as big an issue for me
JoeA
If insurance isn't an an issue.. Get a BMC
truCido
If you're spending money on a remap you want at least a better filter on there rather than the standard one. Just get a Jetex filter and some pipe much cheaper

nic78
True - but in the scheme of things remap = £195 for 12-14BHPI wouldn't be expecting that much with a remap on a 100bhp n/a engine!
Koop
I'd do induction + remap tbh, I know churchill have bands like up to +10% costs so much extra premium, 10-20% costs a higher set amount etc so it'll cost the same in premium hike as just the remap, just tell em you've fitted induction & done a remap & the total power is under +10% which it will be, doubt you'll get +12-14 bhp & even if you do, on an old engine it won't be chucking out the full ton anyway. Can always RR it to make sure. I'll probably do a 57i when I get my sport & remap later.
My_Names_Buck
If your gonna get the remap might as well go the whole hog and get exhaust/cat done beforehand as well, make the most of the map?
