Tigz™
I like it.Although I like the new Golf and Polo front end.Would be a simple enough mod.
Arvid
took a few seconds to sink in but it's definately not bad, especially with the black paint!
payna
my brothers were trying to talk me into doing this the other day, it does look quite good, although personally id rather keep the car looking factory.deffinatly suits the black though! DJ
Looks very good IMO I'd do it anyway if I had a black GTi. Not sure it would be as effective on red or silver though.
Loopy Lupo
******, i have been waiting on some beetle red wing piping to do this for ages (since jan!) suppliers are having problems with american distributors....any how if i can get some i will be doing it on my loop. payna
it deffinatly looks good.is the stuff that is used on the golf part of the whole grille? cos if its not i reckon u might be able to heat it up a touch and bend it to the right shape, it certainly looks thin enough. payna
it might be worth asking the dealers if it is a part that could be bought aside from the whole golf gti grille. will prob bend to shape if you can get it!
Ramirez
Was thinking about this. What about something like an aircooled beetle beading? (The stuff you use on the wings)
Jnmercury00
that looks really good, if you can do a good job of it i might just do the same!
wilco
I too like it very much. But I wonder how can you do it: i mean, what are you thinking to use and how will you fit it on the grill?Keep us informed please...
starbank
Interesting repsonse! A lot of you are talking about piping or trim type material that you can push/clip on to the grille. Have had a look at the grille and to be honest I think this would be pretty difficult to do bespoke. Cheapest and easiest way of doing it would be to just paint the narrow edge section of the grille with some top notch professional paint. I don't think it would be as obvious as the photo though.
