get down to halfords or equivalent and pick up som eseat foam cleaner, autoglym do a good one if i remember correctly. You spray on the foam and work it in with a brush, wipe off any excess and usually leave it to dry for a few hours, worked well when i used it on a previous car.

Id say the best way would be to hire the carpet cleaner coz surely the stuff foam that you leave on would just be a deoderiser as your not removing the dirt just rubbing it more!!? :? Whereas the actual cleaner is basically a vacuum cleaner which puts clean water/detergent onto the upholstry and then sucks it back off thereby removing the dirt? :?:

the foam stuff picks up the dirt and you just wipe off the dirty foam, the wet dry vacumes would soak into the fabric and seat foam and take days to dry, use a specialist car seat cleaning product, not that expensive and know that it's been tested so it shouldn't take the colour out or leave any marks.

the foam stuff is pretty good - it basically lifts the dirt to the surface so you can get it off

the cleaner would be good but will keep the seats wet, but cant beat it for performance. i actually found it really awkward to use cos its meant for carpets (i.e. big flat spaces)

I have the same interia and i use vanish power spray on mine then use a damp cloth 2 wipe it with.

It works great and even gets oily marks out biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

I've got that useless tim and tom design as well, I can't believe they released them as the sport seats - they must have been on drugs or something!

(Either that or a really clever way of getting people to upgrade to the GTI when they released it?)

My seats are quite clean and I've never had to wash them so I can't help you there, although I did buy some foam cleaner when I got the car in case they got dirty (looks like it'd work really well in theory).

To be honest I almost considered getting them really dirty deliberately so I couldn't see the useless design!! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
