DarkStryder360
Polo:Golf:Touran:Touareg:Sharan:"Coupe Concept":The only real difference between the main range is the Polo's rear end. Other wise, all of them are morphs of one another.Thank God for the Scirocco and the Passat!!Its asif they took cues off of Mitsubishi, thinking... yeh the front grille on the Lancer Evo 10 looks sick:So lets put it on all of our other models....ColtCUVOutlanderRVRIts like everything is spiralling into a Porsche world where design over all models arent necessary? tombuttigieg
I think that VW range has got to have some design identity through-out just as Ford has their kinetic design philosophy which means all their range has the same shape and design details. Its seen in every major car company, BMW with their old philosophy of flame surfacing etc. I don't think it's unoriginality but just so the whole range is tied together. IDGM
I can't see the problem. It's all to do with brand unifirmity and identity surely.Lupo & Polo 9N had the same front.Nearly all Seats have the same design treatment.Audi 'fly catcher' grille across the range including, imho, an unscaled version on the A1 that is way too big for the car.Peugeot, Ford, Aston Martin, they all do it.However, if you're looking for excitement in the design of a VW, I think you'll be better off waiting for the evolution of winglets on pigs. jamiea7x
its called brand uniformity....deal with it..its all the design cues that makes it look like a volkswagen, all brands do it.. for example:207307407807 Edited April 13, 2010 by jamiea7x
nfbr
I quite like the new VW Corporate face. Especially the Mk6 Jetta coupé.
VWR Lupo
I love the current look of the VW range, it's good branding in my opinion! The Mk6 Golf GTi in white is pure porn!
IDGM
The MK6 Golf GTI is a nice looking car but a film of me sexing Katy Perry, Rosie Webster and Gemma Atkinson would be pure porn. You need to rethink your sexual aspirations lol
DarkStryder360
Theres a difference between brand uniformity and sucky ass designing. Those Peugeots dont look similar at all to start with, yeh you can tell they're Peugeot, but I wouldnt consider getting confused from one to the other at a distance and they dont look like extruded 207s, they all have their own shape. The VW's above... all have the same bottom grille. Imagine back when Lupos were around, if all the cars had the exact same headlights, and same bottom grille, just stretched.I dont think the VWs have any form of diversity from one another, and that doesnt mean "brand uniformity" at all. tomnotrevo
I like the new shape of the polo, golf mk6, touareg, and especially the coupe concept, if they make that i will own one eventually but hopefully a 6r polo gti before that I don't find myself mistaking them for each other its just recognizable branding. The only thing the coupe concept looks a like is a smaller A5, anyone else see it?

Only difference I have noticed between Sharan and Touran is the slide door... thats it?

The Coupé Concept is a 'Jetta Coupé' so based on the Mk5/6 GolfOnly difference I have noticed between Sharan and Touran is the slide door... thats it?The touran is based on a golf mk5, the Sharran is f**king huge in comparison! heartagram
I'm not keen on the Golf 6 GTI. I think the old Golf 5 looks much better. Just all the lines were nice and it, looked good from every angle. The new one looks a bit bland and garbage. I know the old 5 wasn't really exciting or anything but I just think it worked. tombuttigieg
I don't think the VW styling is bland, I think its just clean cut design showing that they are refined etc. I agree with your point about them all being very similar, but just depends how far they want to take the brand uniformity. I just think if you have a design language that works and sells cars, why would you change it throughout the range.
