nfbr
The ECP light stands for Euro Car Parts. it might mean that you have to go to Euro Car Parts to get it fixed.Try here: www.eurocarparts.co.ukHope this helps!

Defcon5
I take it you mean EPC, rather than ECP? This is electronic power control, need it plugging into VAGCOM to see whats up really. Can you describe what happened a bit better, did it make a bang and stall, or just start being noisy?
sneakylupo
sorry for the spelling mistake.i was driving home from work and there was a noise when iwent past 3000 revs. but no lack in power. the noise was like a hole in the exhaust but my lupo is not low and i dont go fast over speed bumps.so i pushed the throttle little bit harder and there was a little pop and the noise is louder and lacksalot of power the epc light cam on.didnt stall though. Defcon5
Inspect to exhaust for holes as a first point of call then.

RobG
just rang my mechanic he's gonna plug it into the computer tomorrow for me.First thing I'd have done, tbh.My CEL came on, i wandered down to see my tame mech, he said it was the EGR valve, fiddled with it, reset it, light went off.Now it's come back on again, so i need to book it back in with him to get the thing replaced. sneakylupo
my mechanic has said its the sensor down the manifold and he is going to replace it tomorrow. but he said it tricky to get tobecause he's gotta take the cam belt and other stuff off to get to it and it's £90 for the sensor and £100 for labour is fair price??? Defcon5
Take the belts off to get to the manifold? Are you sure?
s2000king
That doesn't sound right at all to me mate, get him to double check or take it somewhere else that will give you a proper diagnosis. Did he tell you which sensor it was??
sneakylupo
he said he's changed the sensor but when you take the revs over 3000the epc light comes back on any ideas. and i'll find out witch sensor it istomorrow
