hi folks...first post!!!

i am currently in the process of selling my Pug 106 gti which is the last of three i have owned over 10 years......and am getting a lupo for a new thrill

i started my driving life in several golf and loved them all....except they all felt a bit heavy,so i turned french....le 106 mon ami?

all of them were heavily modded in bodywork (young and stupid and looking to get laid!!) and then ICE (25 and didn't want to hear the girlfriend nagging)to turbo conversion and strip out (30 and thinking how to get away from the wife as quickly as poss...turbo anyone?!!!)

has anyone done or heard of a supercharged conversion for a lupo?

ive heard you can start with the 1.4 16v engine....but where can i source a 6 speed gearbox...i imagine they are quite rare or does the polo do a 6 speed?

ive heard you can use a merc C180 supercharger....is this correct?

obviousley the brakes need uprating but i see plenty of threads for that!

at the minuit this is all in the planning stage....but you know what they say about planning....so any input would really help....im a complete VAG virgin....been doing french for too long!!!!

thanks folks.....great to meet ya!!!

To start off, Do you have a ÂŁ10,000 to ÂŁ20,000 budget for parts and labour?

If not, You need to quit whilst your ahead or you'll end up with a half finished project and an empty bank account...

Supercharging a lupo is not a weekend job, nor is it a ÂŁ1,000 upgrade...

i realise the cost is a lot ....if you dont know what your doing and have no patience....or you go to a expensive tuning house who convice you you cant do it ,but they can!

as i said the planning is the most important thing...along with knowlege....and e-bay

with careful planning i managed to turbo my 106 for ÂŁ2300 ,by borrowing tools friends in the trade and a bit of patience........but it was assembled and ready to go in 4 days start to finish.

not quite a weekend job but i think you'll agree pretty impressive.... with 233 bhp at the fly.

positive input please!!!!!

cant do is not in my nature....thats why i want supercharger not turbo B)

I dont think the Lupo GTi 6 speed box fits in a 1.4 16v....but i may be wrong

thanks its info like this that i need ...but am sure the mounting points are the same.......will dig deeper...!!!

also looking to get a polo 1.6 16v engine cheap off my mate....will it mate with this....as i know they use the same engine

As far as i know buddy the six speed box only fits the lupo gti engine as bell housing is different on a polo gti (dont hold me to it) altho a polo gti engine will bolt straight in a lupo.

nice one buddy....i really need to climb under a gti to have a look and see if its the same config as the 1.6 engine i have lined up.....anyone with a gti live near worthing/brighton?

lupos are rare but gti's are even rarer and all of my mates are running golfs and jettas!!! :D

Why not go for a complete new engine? Get yourself a high miler lupo and drop a 1.6 16v polo gti engine in it. As far as i'm aware the polo engine bolts straight to the lupo sub-frame whereas the lupo gti engine doesnt. This way you can have a six speed box aswell as more power.

As far as superchargers go, dont know about the merc charger but eaton m45's are a popular choice. Think casper has one for sale actually

nice one......one of my vw mates mentioned eaton........must corner him and listen more closely

a high miler gti is 3500+ and iv'e just had a kid

i must admit the six speed box is a real pull but i am willing to ditch it in favor of a 5 speed

unless anyone knows of a solid six speed and engine combo that will fit ?

like i say im a peugeot nut and you just rob from other parts bins for their cars......its a big easy mix and match...but i am a VAG innocent!!!:lol::lol:

THANKS AGAIN MATE!!!

paulbin, with the greeny-coloured supercharged Sport had a "KOMPRESSOR" badge on his engine cover, so I guess this might be where the Mercedes charger rumour came from. His uses a an Eaton as well though, from the Mini Cooper S.

The m45 supercharger is also used in the slk230 kompressor. There the same chargers internally as the mini one, but just with a different snout and inlet/exit arrangement.
