VW's official figures are 8.3 seconds (to 62), I reckon somewhere around 7.7 is acheivable.Bear in mind that when I did the run it was blindingly hot, and my car never seems as peppy when it's hot outside. zippy Posted September 8, 2004 Report Share Posted September 8, 2004 Was it not Autocar that tested the GTI at 7.7 `0-60`?The word on the street is that VW do the testing to include weight for a driver, passenger & half a tank of fuel, thats why the mag test figures will be lower than the 8.3 VW state in the brochure.
