You're a legend bud. I'm sure thats what i asked for originally but it may not have been! Where can i get elsa from? Looks quite useful. I got every other vag progrom there is so may as well get it!
-
Thanks buddy, they'll help for my current abs fault, have you got the one for the central locking system at all? Andy

Cam from a Polo gt fits fine and adds a little power. Needs to be from a 3F engine code.

£5000 and its yours!

if you have a lupo GTI, this is what you want.

This is the guy that doesnt speak any english and won't post to england. B*stard. I want it! -
I sprayed it grey in kilminster at what was kilminster garage, so you're probably right!
-
Will do. There's not many dubs around down here. You'll spot me from a mile off down the seafront!

Thanks for all the comments guys, i especially like the 'clinical' description. Not one bad one yet either! I'm unsure on a black badge yet, may spray it, but not sure. Have gotta put a red stripe round the grill again sometime soon as well. Got bored of the grey really quickly, looked nice to start with, but so drab after a couple weeks. No hurry with the loom, just whenever you get the time! I couldn't afford a lupo gti at the time i bought it, part ex'd my arosa for this one. Still want a loop, and may get one when i'm bored with this. Fully rebuilt gearbox now so no more worries (hopefully!) Yup it were mine, parked with the uk-polo's bunch. What colour! There's not one shade of colour in it!! Did try spray tinting the lamps like cambridge when i first got the car, but was using window tint paint instead of lamp tint, so looked rubbish! May try again one day.

Cheers guys. Its having a blue beetle badge whens its sprayed.

Sorry but thought i'd show you how the polo's currently looking. Has progressed a lot since i last spoke to any of you lot. How it was... It then looked like this... Then underwent a little 'modification'... And is currently looking like this... This is not the final coat of paint, was a very quick blow over to allow it to look half respectable for e38. I have the paint for when i spray it properly, got a few things to sort out before the spray job happens. Is going alfa nuvelo (i know i've spelt it wrong) white. Its a 3 stage paint so i have to pluck up the courage to apply it as well!

Seen several times around exmouth/exeter area. I've mostly been in a white polo gti with a black roof.

I was listening to the wheatus album (remember them?) at the time i registered. Its the title of a track. I did spell it right originally, then cocked up the password so had to do it again with the wrong spelling.

Looking good. You say you put the power steering resevior where the charcoal canister was, where have you put the canister? I need to move my pas resevior to get a catch tank in and the canister to run some ducting to my bmc (it is a polo, but more or less same engine bay!)

I sell car paint for a living. For the best quality stuff its around £40 a litre. 2 litres will do a lupo easy. Then 2 litres of laquer, around £10-15 dependent on quality. Obviously thinners and hardner, £10 each for them. Total £130 using decent stuff. I sprayed my polo myself, smoothed both bumpers, tailgate and rubbing strips (there's holes behind them), grand total was less than £40 (I used solid 2k paint). Do it solid grey, i got loads of paint left!

Standard discs are 256mm x 20mm vented. Couldnt comment on the pads sorry!

Sounds mental, get a video up! Cant wait to see this.

That looks like a quality conversion paul, very impressive. Can i ask where you got the decompression plate from or was it specially made to head gasket? Do you have an intercooler fitted? If not thats an easy way to squeeze a little more out of it!
-
Your quite correct. Skirts are RGM by the way. Front is made by foxtuning who no longer make it.
-
Yup, same bell housing bolt locations.
-
Taking bets now... The lupo gti uses an 020 gearbox, which is what was used on a mk2 golf. Obviously they've changed through the years (cable change, hyd clutch) but the bell housing bolts and clutch alignment remain the same.
-
Sounds mental. If you pull it off, this will be one hell of a car! Best of luck, keep regular updates and pics!

You could get around the gearbox/driveshafts problem by using a lupo gti box/shafts, as this bolts to the tall block golf engine. You would have to mount it but should be quite straightforward. All in, i'd have thought its not that bad a conversion.

Do the roof, but not the bonnet. Or otherwise said, will look like its been in an accident

I thought all lupo gti boxes were 020 based, whereas the polo gti is 085. As the part number for the lupo box starts 02U?
