spin0304
Around every 37k (30-40,000 usually)Phoned VW dealer. Every 80k or 4 years, whichever is soonest. Mines 8 years old with 50k - guess it's overdue. Booked into garage. PS. VW quoted £300 inc VAT; local garage (AA approved with 10 yr g'tee) quoted £155 inc VAT. Guess where I'm going......... cardaft
8 years without it going, your lucky!I dont know why the VW dealer told you its 80K or 4 years, thats not the case. Ive been told 60K or 4 years by my local VW dealer, although it is supposed to be 40K or 4 years though.

cardaft
Tensioners. Make sure you get the cambelt kit with the tensioners and not just the belt on its own.

Ive been told 60K or 4 years by my local VW dealer, although it is supposed to be 40K or 4 years though.I've only had it since Jun 07 so checked the service history. Noticed it had never been done assuming it wouldn't need it for another 10k or more. Just lucky I checked with the dealer I suppose. 80k or 4 years did sound a bit odd. Who does 80k in 4 years in a Lupo????

cardaft
Nope, ive no idea how i do so many miles, im sure the car goes out on its own!I was doing 60-120 miles a day going to uni, but im not now and still doing lots of miles In 15 months ive done 22K I had my cambelt done at 28K since the car was 4 years old. Its now on 48K, i carnt see me getting it done in another 20K though so im not going to stick to the recomendations unless my mileage drops significantly. Ill wait till its done 68K i think or it will mean ive got to get it changes about every 2 years Edited January 8, 2008 by cardaft
