Hiya Mine is on it's way out. Rang 2 VW dealers, one in Swansea, one just outside Swansea. One told me no way to any freebies, the other offered a reduced repair as I get mine serviced there annually. Did you get anywhere with this? Even if I have to pay and can get the money back somehow, that would be something. Hi I have the same problem... I rang Sinclair Garages in Swansea and they mentioned they were not going to pay full contribution unless it had VW service history, first hand ownership, etc. etc. Any tips on how to go about this from your experience?

I've only had it since Jun 07 so checked the service history. Noticed it had never been done assuming it wouldn't need it for another 10k or more. Just lucky I checked with the dealer I suppose. 80k or 4 years did sound a bit odd. Who does 80k in 4 years in a Lupo????

Phoned VW dealer. Every 80k or 4 years, whichever is soonest. Mines 8 years old with 50k - guess it's overdue. Booked into garage. PS. VW quoted £300 inc VAT; local garage (AA approved with 10 yr g'tee) quoted £155 inc VAT. Guess where I'm going.........

It's coming (roughly) from the front arches but sounds much closer when when driving. Also, the odd time it comes from the back passenger side arch but not so often as the front. I detest the thought of having to take it to a garage, a woman walking into a mechanics asking for a creaking sound to be checked out is just asking to be ripped off.......

I had a rust bubble on drivers side of the roof. It's a 99 model. Phoned VW, apparently they have a 12 year bodywork guarantee. Got it sorted within a week FOR FREE (!) and got courtesy car. If you do get any rust, it's worth ringing them.

Possible fuel pump problem. My husband had a Ford Focus until 6 mths ago. It did exactly the same thing. The pump inside the fuel tank had to be replaced.

Any ideas what this could be..... creaking noise from front passenger & drivers sides when turning, going over bumps/ramps and travelling around roundabouts - intermittently. Could it be: wishbones / engine struts / suspension springs? Anyone else with similar problem?
