Toi gulp Posted September 23, 2007 Report Share Posted September 23, 2007 HiJust to avoid a little head scratching and getting the tape measure out (at least for now) is it possible to convert a 5 speed lupo gti into a 6 speed model (2002 age)?Is the gearbox a straight swap? oviously the linkage and lever will need changing etc but was just wandering how simple it is to do?While i'm on the topic of GTI gearboxes what would be a good LSD to put in it?CheersAndy Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

db Posted September 23, 2007 Report Share Posted September 23, 2007 Whilst the performance benefits are minimal, you gain in drivability. I've driven both round town and the 6 speed is more alive, it picks up and shoots off where the 5 speed doesn't, purely because it sits at slightly higher revs in each gear.
