luposport_chris Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 well ive got the oppurtunity to take my pic at gearboxes! only got the car for a few more weeks before i go to singapore so wondered if the iea of putting a 1 litre gearbox on it was a.daft b.the car would be daft accellerating c.it would blow up!opinions? mills787 Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 ive herd of people putting a standard 1.4 box on a sport which aparently affects acceleration abit - but is better for motorway speeds etc due to lower revs, dunno about a 1.0 box onto it though... cardaft Posted August 10, 2007 Report Share Posted August 10, 2007 I would think a 1.0 gearbox is very much the same as the sport, as they both do similar revs at 70mph.A non sport 1.4 would give better MPG and be more refined only it would affect the performance slightly.Are you putting the gearbox in to sell the car?Are you moving to Singapore permanantly?
