I used to have fun driving 1.6D Escort vans fast and they were very underpowered. The 1.6D Fiesta was a good laugh to drive too.

I think the 1.7D Arosa will be a fun car to drive but it's all down to what your used to driving, i used to think the Fiesta was fast but nowadays, after my TDi it would feel slow.

My conclusion: If it's a tidy car and the right price, go for it

I test drove a 1.7 SDi once, many moons ago when I had just got started on the Arosa

Acceleration felt much the same as the 1.0, but hills were better. Alot noisier though, down an enclosed lane it sounded like I was driving a Challenger Tank! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Hold on, i've got the owners manual here coffee.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" /> ....

Max speed 157km/h

Acceleration 0-80km/h 10.7s

Acceleration 0-100km/h 16.6

Engine output: 44kw(60HP)/4200

Engine torque: 115nm/2200-3000

Engine torque for the 1.0(50HP) petrol is 86nm

So the diesel is faster and will pull stronger through the gears rolleyes.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
