Will Cheyney
What are you recommendations for replacement tyres for Bathurst 15” alloys? OEM size is 205 45 R15 but with Toyo Proxies looking like they’re getting harder to come by we’re short on options 😅
lupogtiboy
Most people have swapped to a 195/45 R15, I did many years ago due to lack of choice with the OE size. I can highly recommend Uniroyal Rainsport, they are by far the best tyre I've ever fitted to my gti
szrdave
I fitted Goodyear Eagle F1s this summer in 195/45-15 (tried 195/50 previously, which rubbed on full lock). Overall pretty impressed, dry grip seems good (standard suspension from 2000 so hard to say too much) and wet grip is ok when the weather is warm. We've had single digit temperatures and damp roads the past few days, and the Goodyear's are definitely out of their operating window in those conditions
davy26
I have recently replaced two of mine with the 205 Proxes (which I think are the best looking option) and against expectation I had no trouble with availability, (received within 2 days), and at £77 each, good value I'd say. 😊
kt_lou_gti
Hi @davy26, were the Toyo the earlier T1R or the current TR1? Could you share where you got them please.
davy26
KT - My new tyres are marked PXTR1 81V. I was supplied by www.protyre.co.uk and enjoyed very courteous/efficient service from the local branch at Canterbury. Hope this helps.
