  1. Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had put yellow laminex over the front headlights on a pastel blue Lupo, I'm not sure if it will match? Pictures anyone? Cheers
  2. Ok, so I brought some brake discs for my 1.4 16v thinking they were 240mm, however they turned out to be 256mm! I filtered the parts for my REG and it said that they would fit, and from a very quick read online apparently I will be able to fit the 256's. Can anyone confirm this so I don't have to go and buy some 240's now? Thanks from Lewis
  3. Hi help! I want to change from five stud wheels to four stud wheels, what would be the best way? Would VW Lupo/Polo hubs fit straight onto VW Fox ones?
  4. Problem= engine is quite tappaty and is burning a resonable amount of oil only recently started tapping. actions carried out= changed oil for 5w30 magnatex oil and new filter service was only 2000 miles ago and also added some wynns hydraulic valve lifter cleaner to my oil, the volume of the tapping hasnt change at all. i have noticed with the oil cap off you can see oil being sent to the head so it isnt running dry. what have people experienced or does anyone know how to stop the burning oil and tapping noise thankyou any help would be much appreciated do apologise if this is a duplicate thread extremly busy with work to haul through threads to find many different answers
  5. Hi all, This morning I did a diagnostics check on my car to find some fault codes. It came back with 11 faults :S little bit worrying! some sound serious! These are from the book supplied with the scanner. If someone could help me translate these. The numbers with no explanation don't appear to be in the book! Codes- 17852 - Cylinder #8 fuel injector circuit - open circuit 17510 - o2 sensor circuit heating circuit (B1 - 51) Short to B+ 16500 - Engine coolant temperature circuit - range/performance problem. 18010 - Power supply (B+) Terminal 30 - low voltage 16955, 16946, 17526, 16585, 16587, 16588, 16586 If anyone could help or has had similar issues I would be really grateful! Thanks, Aaron
  6. Hi, I'm new to the forum and after searching through I can't seem to find any similar questions. Any help with the following would be great! - It is hard to start the car when cold, it can take a little while and just cuts off. It takes a several attempts before I can actually start it. I was thinking perhaps spark plugs? - My speedo and rev counter only work sometimes and when they do they start at the wrong place so if I get in the car and the speedo is at 40mph then its like the 0mph, when it says 70mph I'm doing 20mph etc... I have heard something about a grounding issue but I have no idea where the ground is for the dials!? Any help I would be really grateful, Cheers, Aaron
  7. Ive lowered my lupo on JOM coilovers and fitted them all, once i got home i had a look at them and it looks like my wheels have been cammed on the front and im just unsure why they have gone like this anyone have any Suggestions on this problem ?
  8. Ok, so I find the standard headrests in the Lupo are EXTREMELY uncomfortable, does anyone know if the headrests from a 6n2 will fit? Thanks from Lewis
  9. Okay, I recently fitted my new pioneer DEH1400UB and had no problems except it not remembering its settings, so I swapped over the yellow and red power wires as suggested on the Internet, and bam... Sudden power cut. I checked the fuse under the steering wheel to find it broken, so replaced it accordingly and start the engine again.. And what happens? Still no power... I have looked under the hood and every single fuse in the car but no other breaks, can anyone help?! Thanks!
  10. Hi, I'm planning to go to Germany this year in my 1.4 Lupo, but just for a laugh I want a loud exhaust for the trip! I've already looked at cherry bombs but I think they'd be too loud! Ideally I'm looking for something cheap, doesn't require me cutting into the standard exhaust and will just make it sound louder! any ideas? thanks from Lewis
  11. Does anyone know if any other headlights will fit on the arosa?! I want to have angel eyes but I will need to take apart my headlight to do it. I just wanted to buy a cheap light to test it before I do it on mine?! Any ideas?

  17. So my beloved 1litre is nearly dead. Anyone know any companies out there that will source an engine and swap them for me? And does anyone know if it's possible to swap from 1.0 to 1.4 with ease, like is or just a mount change or are the shapes completely different? I live in South Wales of anyone knows anywhere local... Thanks.
  18. hi can any one post a pic of there lupo gti rear cards with the speaker ports so i can try and make mine look something like ?
  19. So, the poor little engine in my 1.0 Lupo is on its last legs. And rather than trading her in for a new cari want to change the engine. Too many memories and all that. But, as I'm sure everyone's aware 1.0 engines are like rocking horse **** to find, and also not giving me enough go. So my question is, I'm planning to source and put in a 1.2. I'll obviously change the clutch plate too but is there anything else that'll need changing? Engine mounts etc. Or is it a straight swap? Cheers, Tom
  20. hi. just picked a 1.0 arosa up and on the way back the oil light started flashing and it felt like it started misfiring the light only flashed when building up speed and slowing down when sat at 40+ the light wasnt on any ideas of what this could be?????? its a 1999 v and done 85000 miles thanks in advance

  22. Hey Hey It's my birthday next week so Mummy is going to spend a few quid on the car for me! Gotta love her! So I've decided what I want at the moment is new wheels and my bumpers colour coded I know how much my bumpers are and everything, but all that's left for me is wheels! I can't make my mind up on what I want though, but I like the loom of BBS RS, Minilites or anything similar. Price range of anything up to £600 including tyres. Suggestions would be a lovely birthday present from all you guys!
  23. Hello, I'm a new member to CL and I'm 16. Basically, I've been looking to get a 1.0L. Lupo for my first car and I will be going into the dub scene of course! In doing so, I'd like to get a GTI "kit" on it. Such as grill, front bumper, rear bumper, spoiler and side skirts basically. Also i'd like to get a bonnet which covers a bit of the light. But is this actually possible? I'll be looking to buy a lupo 1L. in black from the reg 2000-2005. Also if this is possible could you fellow Lupo'ers send me links where I can get the GTI stuff from other than GTI's breaking on ebay. Cheers, Jack
  24. Sooooo...... iv'e got coilies, and i need the rears to go lower (take out adjusters) but im in a bit of a pickle. ive got shorter shocks to replace the standard ones, but every time i jack the car up the springs fall out of the top bit it that sits in the top of the spring. and if the adjusters are out, wont it be worse? (i know you have to cable tie the bottom of the springs down) how do you stop this? do you bolt it to the top? what do you do? so if people would be kind enough, could you post up some pics of your set up at the back? jacked up & not. Thanks, Jamie.
  25. Hi all, I new here but thought this is the best place to get a awnser. My 1.4 16v 2000 ish VW lupo, is a poorly girl. . The first of these problems was someone had taken out the window mechanism and replaced it with wood. Got it fixed, worked for a week. Now stuck. Second problem was the whole exhaust dropping off while driving. Embarrassing and inconvenient, luckly near my birthday, so i got a new one as a pressent. My mechanic told me getting that replaced would make sure it passes its mot next month. Well... I took her in again to get looked at, the check engine light had come on and was worried Yeaterday i was told there was no hope for the poor girl. All the sensors are worn and the best thing to do is "run it to the ground." This being my first car and only buying her for a grand, I though I might aswell. But deep down, I really like this car. The engine is spot on and everything is so sound. So, here is my proposal, and i need you opinion. Should I save up and get her fixed? I was quoted £800/£1000 Or Should I cut my losses, "run her to the ground" and get another car? I bloody love lupos and possibly would get another one. With the widow and a few dents in her, i cant see myself getting anything at all for her, but to buy another one (same size same year) it gunna cost me a fair bit. Possibly more that its gunna cost me to repair her. Its estimated she will run for another year or so, but i need an opinion now as I should get some saving started regardless. Or can anyone give me any advice on what to do? Im a lady lupo drive and honesty have no clue about cars (apart from I know what a cam belt is and I check my oil once a week ) Thanks you reading and i really want to hear your opinions. Oh and sorry about my bad spelling
