Hi guys, just a couple of questions to those with a smidge more electrical know how than my self. Boot popper was installed by the previous owner to work the smoothed tailgate. Naturally with the dewipered rear he used the washer loom to power the solenoid from the rear wash button. My problem is that this only works with the ignition on, and that the button only works one way at a time, i.e. press once to unlock the solenoid, press again to close it. I've got an idea of how i can sort it, but i'd like someone who knows what they're talking about to help us out. What I reckon is that if i got a 5 pin relay and drew power to that from the handbrakes switch, or the battery directly, then got the two switch pins going to open and close the solenoid and the control pin still being routed from the washer button. In theory when the relay isn't recieving a signal (button not depressed) it should send a 'lock' signal to the boot solenoid, and when the button is pressed, the switch will unlock the solenoid, then relock when the button is released. If that made any sense at all, chances are you can help, if not, sorry, it is a little wordy. If needs be, i can mock up a circuit diagram to give a better idea

Handbrake light comes on when cornering hard.....
Curtis replied to Pete's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Just a stab in the dark, but could the handbrake sensor be loose? In tight corners perhaps the switch inside the sensor is contacting and illuminating the warning light? -
cheers for the tips guys. Hoping to get a lifting kit from work next week, so i can get a good look underneath to see whats up

Anyone at all? i think i'm close with this, but i'd like someone to point out if i've got it wrong

Not gonna lie, those are a steal at that price. Out of my budget, but would snatch them off you if i had the cash! Good Luck selling them, not like you'll need it!

i'm driving a mk1 arosa sport, apparently only 84 of them on the road. Hardly a collectors item though! of the things that were special for the se, i'd keep the rear lights, people would clamber over eachother to get a hold of them, myself included! You may want to keep some parts so as if the time comes you do sell it on, it will always fetch more money as a standard car than a modified one

Hey guys, got a rattle/buzz that comes from the exhaust thats starting to get a bit annoying now. It only occurs as the revs slowly move past 2k rpm, either slowly accelerating or under braking. I'm guessing its a resonance thing. Upon closer inspection today (read, shaking holy hell out of the pipe to give me a clue) i noticed that the mid section box is fouling on the heat shield, which is what i reckon causes the buzz at the resonant frequency. My question is has anyone had the same or a similar problem, and is there an easy way to move the pipe half an inch or so to the side away from the heat shield? Cheers guys

Don't know how many of you have already come across this site, but I've used it many a time to get a better idea of what oem wheels are likely to fit my car http://www.carlsalte...l-fitments.html Contains a huge list of models and manufacturers, all including PCD, Offset and Centre Bore. The link I have is direct to the full database. You can quickly narrow down your search for a specific model from here, alternatively, you can look at all the cars for a given PCD here Hope that helps you guys as much as it has me

I was coming in the opposite direction on the island outside the old jag plant, you blasted two cars on the outside of the island, going at a nice pace

Front fogs available?

So... Fitted some new flat wiper blades, the difference is instantly noticable, except for the one patch of glass that the wiper refuses to make contact with. Any Ideas? In other news, I had a look at my foglamp, and the reflective casing is done for, so if anyone has a spare case kicking about, that'd be great

Are the tyres a decent brand? I need a better set on mine and this'd be killing two birds with one stone -
Hi guys, passenger side foglamp casing on my arosa is busted. The lens and backing cover is fine, i just need the reflective case inside the foglamp. Shoot a pm my way if you can help

Cheers for the comments guys i think the half textured bumpers just look unfinished, so i'd like to get them painted, maybe even smoothed in if i get round to it. In the meantime, look what santa brought me for christmas Just trying to think of where to start! I was considering doing the front badge, but then i figured i could get the front section away, bomb the back part and leave the seat badge itself black. So i'll have a shot at that on a dry day
