when i did the upgrade i bought brembo max discs and tarox pads, pretty sweet setup.
  7. on the way to pick my car up from the body shop i spotted a low green lupo parked at one of the warehouses.
  8. just keep looking man, i was looking for ages!
  9. in a perfect world i would but thats alot of work! idealy you need to source a whole mk5 boot and cut the fitting out of that to weld to the lupo.
  10. had a go at using the DA today, im new to this so was abit weary about doin damage so started off light. got all the swirls out of the bonnet but the deeper scratches remain. shall i just stick a course pad and a cutting menzerna and blitz it?
  11. ha yer in the winter i double up on the troy lee, wear two pairs lol.
  12. i will remove the wiper in the summer, the lupo back end just gets so dirty so quickly. only problem is id wanna put it back on for the winter which is a bugger when you have glued a glass plug into the window lol.
  13. yer iv got a smaller badge to put on, when i clean it next i will give it some thought
  14. Most recently the car has been in the body shop having the bumpers and boot done, managed to get some pics this afternoon before it got dark.
  15. Bought my GTI back in september 2009 after looking for the rite one for 8 months, managed to find a 54 plate with 32k on the clock and all the extras the first mods were only small ones, fitted rear aero wiper german pressed plates and red grill piping. couple of months later i lowered it on KW V1 inox coilovers, also installed the awesome ARB. obviously doin them at the same time, the difference from before was crazy. summer of 2010 decided to do the g60 280 upgrade managed to source some carriers off ebay. on the front i went for brembo max disc's and tarox pads rears were max-torque disc's from kamracing with greenstuff pads random shiny photo fitted a cupra splitter, not brilliant for the roads around here....spent more time hanging off than on lol bought some flashy leather bits off a member on here, well happy with these. My bathurst's were lookin pretty tired so a trip to the wheel specialist sorted that out, had them done in black chrome. the rear wheels were hiding in the arches after lowering so i added some 15mm spacers, probably could have gone bigger but didnt want scrubbing. decided to do some engine mods so had a janspeed cat-back fitted and also fitted a BMC with cold air feed. fitted new coil pack and leads when i installed the BMC because the ride was getting abit lumpy After reading peoples reactions to power flex bushes i bought a complete set for the front, while i was doin it i decided to fit new ball joints and drop links (what a bitch )
  16. not really, it will just wear through until it wont scrub anymore id imagine.
  17. "real head turner" yer....not in a good way. id point and laugh if i saw that lol
  18. thanks for the advice chaps, car is goin in on monday morning. will have to start a member cars thread soon!
  19. well just from their reputation there work should be pretty good, jaguar and landrover get all their paint work done there. the boot handle hole will be welded and filled to finish, didnt really ask how they would do the badge recess, whats the best way to do it?
  20. Lupo GTI Boot • Recess behind WV badge smoothed over • Remove small dent from just underneath the window • Boot Handle removed, hole blanked and smoothed • Remove brake light from new spoiler and fill in the void (vw accessories spoiler) • Remove glass and spray boot and spoiler Bumpers • Spray front and rear bumpers in reflex silver • Remove small scratch from above number plate have been quoted £600 for all of the above, the place thats doin it is a jaguar/landrover center of exellence.
  21. seemes pretty good, the wheel specialist charged me 260! bloody good job thou.
  22. yep, mine have been on a year and a half and you can still adjust them by hand. worth the extra.
  23. im two mins from cardiff airport, got a lupo GTI. Dont know of many member around here.
  24. i had never done bushes before but i managed fine. common sense really, helps to be practical too lol. the only hard bits i found was attaching the wishbones after installing the new bushes and connecting the drop links, probably best to have someone help you at that stage. to remove the old bushes just burn them out.
