Innovation in the dam.......yes please : )

Well like I said I had to have them custom made. My dads mate has an engineering business so he did them for free for me. I still have the technical drawings I did somewhere, so if you want a copy of that to show to a machine shop let me know.

I had the same problem with some BBS i bought off a mazda, Except I had hubcentric spacers knocked up which reduced the spigot from 57.1 to 54.1. Shame I sold the adapters with the BBS as these look very nice.

I have a nixon scout with camo strap & a nixon banks that I got for my 18th couldn't find the colour I have, mines a brown face with yellow and blue small dials.

Today I went ahead and removed the bumpstrips, all went ok apart from the drivers side rear quarter, which has left a mark where the original paint meets the respray. But that panel needed re-doing anyway so not too gutted.
-
I've been wanting to remove the bumpstrips for a while now. But haven't wanted to because im fairly sure its been re-sprayed at some point. Do you think this will leave visible marks? Also the paintwork seems a bit orange-peely, is this something that can be sorted with a good polishing with G3?

Clearly hasnt got the hang of the "write half a word and check your progress" technique.

I love this car, especially the audi grille! Can I ask how you smoothed the front numberplate recess out? I've been looking into it and am not sure how to go about it. I was thinking get 2 bumpers and plastic weld a bit of the curve from one bumper into the number plate recess, then obviously filler, primer, paint. -
I ran xubuntu on my laptop for ages it was brilliant. I dont think it crashed the entire time i used it. oh well back to good old reliable windows...

That seems strange, I had to take quite a bit off, e.g sometimes using the cutting disc, not just grinding. Have you removed the sound deadening under the seats? Maybe that made the difference, As there was some that I took out but only afterwards haha. I gave mine a quick sanding and painting nothing special, just a bit of 60 grade and some hammerite just to keep it neat and stop the rust. And Ive done 240 miles on a full tank round town and round my house, These were motorway miles remember, get on M1, Get in 5th. Stay on M1, Stay in 5th.
-
Yeah I was impressed aswell, I drove to rotherham and back, put £28 in, brimmed it and had a half tank by the time id got home. The seats are my favourite mod, so happy with them so far! They were relatively easy to fit all I had to do was take an angle grinder to the seat bases and remove some parts that catch on the floor. Adjustable lumbar support is a nice touch too : )
-
Oh. And i got 200 miles to £15 worth of fuel t'other day. quite impressed.

Or are they connected to the full beams? Thats what Im going to do, just connect the front fogs to the full beams so they come on with the full beams.

Me to ebay man : "Hi mate. Just wondering if you could help me; I've been told that running speakers at there lowest impedance produces optimum results. My sub is a JBL GTO1202D with dual 2 ohm voice coils. These can be wired at 1 ohm or 4 ohm, so I intend to have it wired as 1 ohm. The maximum RMS of the sub is 300W. This amp says it provides 300W RMS @1ohm. So is this the right amp to get the most out this sub? Cheers, Rob." ebay man : "yes this will work fine" not the most comprehensive answer i could have hoped for. I know it will work, but will it be getting the best out my sub? Can anyone else shed some light?
-
found this amp. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JBL-GT5-A3001-GT5-A3...id=p3286.c0.m14 Says its capable of providing 300W RMS @ 1 ohm. My speaker is only rated for 300W RMS so id be running it at its full potential at its lowest impedance. It wont power my speakers aswell but as a sub amp, Isn't that the optimum setup?
-
OK, Its a JBL GTO1202D. dual 2 ohm. Does wiring it in series and parallel affect the total impedance of the speaker then? EDIT: OK, In doing some research, ive found that it does affect the impedance, and I can have it wired as a 1ohm or 4ohm. Which way round is which though? and will I need an incredibly expensive amp to power it at 1 ohm?

I have myself, a box, a sub, and some rear speakers, Just looking at amplifiers now. Ive been looking at powering the sub and speakers off a 4 channel amp. but will I be able to use the LPF on one channel and not for the speaker channels? Or will I be better off just getting a mono amp for the sub and a 2 channel for the speakers? Should I wire the coils of my sub in series or parallel? I know how to wire each up, im just unsure of the advantages of each? or say I had a 4 channel amp, could i connect 2 channels to the sub? cheers, Rob.
