  1. thx for quick reply will have a mooch at ultimate dubs next week might remove letters & carbon wrap the back then re-attach prefer to do that Any other thoughts/suggestions welcome thx for the reply though appreciated G
  2. Some scrote has nicked the G from my Gti front grill badge found the T as nearly caught the little **** nicking it. My badge has a Red I as 6 speed 2003 model Just wondered what other badges will fit the Gti grille as in say Mk5 Golf are these a direct fit??. Asking as can get one easy at trade but might decide to change as have carbon wrapped my front badge & looks sweet. Don't want no e bay rubbish from China badge/lettering needs to look OEM & happy to pay for right item as my car is a nice example. Don't want a whopper of a thing in your face as standard badge measure 75mm wide 25mm in height (small & perfectly formed like a Lupo) Any thoughts/advice on direct OEM fits for the front appreciated. G
  3. cheers for that Will keep an eye out might bring a friend with another Lupo if I can make it Just to boost Lupo numbers both are tidy examples we don't do sheds Looking at it presume its modified scene so will bring my modded Gti if I make it. Will defo show up some time this year tho G
  4. We are defo going to try & get to ultimate Dubs next Sunday. Probably in Toms Sport as Lenny is in at Pipewerx for more development. Hopefully collecting him next Saturday, so might take him down but was filthy when i dropped him off & can't see Jeff cleaning him for me Need new front badge as some **** nicked the GT off the GTi front grille keeps happening when Mrs goes to Virgin gym bits keep getting nicked. Window switches are bobbins new about £11.00 from dealers not worth getting 2nd hand IMO
  5. What date & time is the March meet on at ? Is this more of a modified scene/meet or OEM scene/meet ? Doesn't bother me either way just need to know which Lupo to show up in. Just curious as should really show my face & not to far away but depends on if have the time or not as always working. If someone could let me know that would be appreciated Gary
  6. LOCATION IS DEFO WALSALL, AS INDICATED BY THE WHEELIE BIN IN BACKGOUND LOL
  7. Timewasters on this forum ? Surely you must be mistaken ??
  8. Says in the description at the bottom pm for pics If you google search images use the title 'Zauber wheels' a Mk4 Golf comes up with the same design of wheel As described they are like a Porsche Design 90 wheel but split rim or follow the link below I have uploaded for a pic of the design If you want pics of the wheels would suggest you pm This will give you an idea of what they look like hope that info helps http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://a80.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/27/l_eb64f5e154f0b9f9529893031197cebf.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.wheel-whores.com/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D32%26t%3D11%26start%3D240&usg=__WV8deH4xInMHUlShafOA0XYhMf0=&h=444&w=600&sz=29&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=FhT0lXUqdvngUM:&tbnh=152&tbnw=194&ei=879iTaaWK4Gj4QaUzbHeCQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3DZauber%2Bwheels%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1021%26bih%3D602%26gbv%3D2%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=315&vpy=85&dur=3359&hovh=193&hovw=261&tx=148&ty=218&oei=879iTaaWK4Gj4QaUzbHeCQ&page=1&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0
  9. I have replied we are all good
  10. Okay fair enough but i don't do dibs I have been on the forum long enough bought & sold enough parts to be aware of this. I thought that when i gave you my e mail in the PM sent & asked to pay via paypal so early on & saying that i would take them pending the pic of the drivers side that they were mine from the reply I received. The trouble is i have to deliver the bad news to my best friends girlfriend who has a Red Lupo & who has already given me the money to pay for them, me having told her that i thought I had found her a pair as someone has smashed hers off & driven off. There's no point us falling out over it whats done is done but if the other member had contacted you first why offer to send me a pic of the drivers side ? it would have been better that you said there was another interested party. The only reason i requested that was to show her so she was 100% happy & clear about what she was getting as I was spending someone elses money not my own. If you were in my shoes Mike i don't think you would be to thrilled either. Apology accepted & time to move on though i feel
  11. How did that happen ?? Considering I gave you my paypal address & e mail & said i would take was just waiting for pics of drivers side as agreed. I log on this morning wondering where my pics are as says in the ad 'topic will be updated over weekend'. I wait patiently for pics thinking you are busy & this is what I read ? Diappointing to say the least Ad went up 4.2.11 at 1.46pm I contacted you about these on 4.2.11 4.33pm you replied 4.2.11 at 5.29pm with the reply below Yes they are a pair. I will take some photo's of the drivers side tomorrow. It is in the same condition as the o/s just doesn't have the glass in place as i needed it for my Arosa. I will have to see how much postage is as they'll have to be recorded delivery. Possibly £10-15 for postage. Cheers, Mike Sorry to say but that's not cricket In my opinion
  12. No worries usually round Leyland as used to train at gym there & have mates there i am in Lostock Hall now & travel northbound on M6 to 31a Fulwood a few times a week & then home again on M6 southbound. Might spot u sooner than you think Least now i know what to look out for If it was me sorry if i cut you up not intentional laters
  13. Might have been me might not car does look standard atm & is a reflex Silver Gti on bathusrts for winter but sits low as on KW coilovers Sad to say I take no prisoners in my Loop & am often up & down M6, M61 & M65, I really do need to grow up but whats the point in having a fun car & not having any fun in it . I am an ex Wigan lad & used to live in Standish that's how I knew the junction instantly. I visit pipewerx in lathom a bit & use that junction a lot to see mates & go back. If you are local watch out for a white Sport around Charnock Richard M6 junction another mint Loop its my nephew he's a Wigan lad as well & he takes no prisoners either must be a family trait ! Also in a Raven Blue Gti as well thats me as well if you see me give us a wave Lupos are in short supply round here so we tend to know & recognise each other easily What you driving & what colour for future reference?
  14. Here we go again the great tyre debate nothing wrong with OEM dunlops on a standard Gti, Toyo is only alternative in that same size before toyo was dunlop or nothing. I run toyo proxe T1R in summer have used kumho ecsta & hankook but they are priced accordingly you only get what you pay for hankooks good all rounders both are harder compounds those new fangled toyo proxes cost a few quid more meant to last longer better than previous not sure what they are know someone who bought set of 4 hated them went back to old ones. Yoko are not the player they once were in tyre world. Avon are cheap sort of branded tyre you get free with your 15's had some once on brand new set of Azev A, hateful things dreadful in the wet Never been a lover of uniroyal rainsport ran em not a fan. One not mentioned & they are the bollox I run them in 195 45 15 Good year Eagle F1 few quid more than toyo's but well worth extra bought £60.00 each. Best value for money 195 45 15 is Toyo they don't last to long but cost pennies. Have tested plenty tyres as have 2 gtis & 6 sets of wheels Best tyres non Lupo related IMO Continental sport contacts, Pirelli p zero & Bridgestone Potenza's I run the 1st 2 sets on my BBS for my TT & 19 RS4's your arse would go if told you the price of 1 Pirelli Pzero in 19" you could have 4 tyres fitted to your Lupo & change for the price of 1 of em not even fitted What about Michelin Pilot sport do they do them 195 45 15 might suit your needs Good tyres ran em in 18" do last good all rounders can be a bit more road noise but thats why you get a few miles that said my mates M3 eats them alive but M3's eat any tyre alive he swears by them though. Just a thought ?? The perfect trye is hard to find its personal preference & down to how much you want to spend. I have never found the perfect one you have to find the one that suits your driving & needs. as said earlier I think generally you only get what you pay for as with anything in life. Don't care ? don't value your life ? buy a set of Wan Li's that will make things interesting made by Chinas biggest & best tyre company from re-cycled asda bags you'll soon find yourself in a hedge. They are like driving on diesel
  15. I have a Lupo that runs 140bhp (at awesome gti)fitted with the following ashley 4 into 1 manifold (awesome) full BMC with custom pipework (from pipewerx) Pipewerx 200 cell sports cat Cat back scorpion stainless modded by pipewerx not remapped yet as self learns anyway & mapping won't get much more power just tie everything up all the above is achievable within your budget lot of work/planning/installing & modding gone into this don't want or need any more power.
  16. Yep just following up as read a few other comments clutchs are prone to going, a lot of people think they are hard to do but when done a few not to bad to do in the right hands. Thing is shouldnt go & are another weak point of the mini, also mates cylinder head on cooper s went wont get any change out of £1k for a head. None taken about TT mines the Mk1 same as the press release car in Misano Red with BBS splits (quite a rare spec) gets more attention than mates Mk2. Audi were never going to dramatically deviate when on to a winning package with the TT when launched Mk2 TT but some dull colours around & as you say plenty of em, but you cannot ignore it when it returns over 40 mpg & is a split second or two behind the standard 3.2 dsg for performance thats just the 2.0 the dsg box is a tremendous piece of kit & would be exc in a Mk5 as dsg are quicker than manual. That said you haven't a prayer of getting insured on one at that age. Knowing what you have said now i'd go for a Mini Cooper Mk2 well spec'd try it see if you like it if you do go for a cooper s as easy to live with a cooper easy to sell good mpg & performance & cheap tax now as emissions in new engines are a lot lower than Mk1 Mini, you know all the downsides but if u listen to other folk you'll never do anything for yourself, folk on here are going to sing Lupo Gti praises all day it isn't called club lupo for nothing & if you put the reverse question on a mini forum bout a Lupo gti sure they would find all the weak points there bout a lupo gti. The choice is yours.
  17. well Mk2 believe it or not is a completley different beast nothing on them is interchangable might look the same but dont be fooled, it's not a facelift model its a totally different car engine totally different beast as opposed to that chrysler engine they slung in far more mpg & more grunt lower emissions cheaper tax even new cooper is not far off old mk1 cooper S which is why prices on Mk1 cooper s altho might ask high when selling never get usually overpriced the Mk1 until reality hits. But as before doesn't look radically different enuff joe bloggs cant tell difference so still part of a huge herd friend sold his JCW worx the Mk2 215 bhp as had owned 2 cooper s before that out of pure boredom all his cooper S were top draw well tuned high spec models he drives an audi TT Mk2 now i have a TT as well he has 2.0 DSG after having driven my 3.2 dsg won't go back to Mini land loves his TT lot more car for the money & reckons far better than the MINi top of the range model he had. If it were me & you have enough funds for a Mk2 cooper S I would be looking at a Golf Mk5 Gti plenty of power & a bargain now 200 bhp at standard easily remapped via aweseome Gti Or for the money try & bag a Mk5 Edition 30 if you can 230 bhp & get re-mapped a mate of mine has one with oettinger remap owned from new Candy white real nice piece of kit oddly enough he had a Mk1 Cooper S when they first came out as well. Another friend had a cooper s sold it & bought a Porsche 944S2 going retro & prefers that. Thinking about it I know quite a few folk that have owned them now as well as the Cooper as well, all were well spec'd but all of them soon tired & sold them. They sold their's easily as all very unique but would think if a standard car would be hard to shift as plenty around colour is important to liquid yellow is especially hard to shift as is british racing green don't mind the green but that info came from a Mini specilaist that we know & have had plenty of dealing with via perfoermance parts/upgrades Still if you like it its not for me to dictate to you buy one try it you might not like it you might love it sometimes its an itch you got to scratch at least you are still buying a quality product.

Hi welcome Quick answers below BMC CDA = filter Exhaust = scorpion, bastuck, Janspeed or custom
  19. Think you have answered most of points yourself. Came close about 3 years back driven a few Cooper S in my time. My friends have had 3 one of which was JC Cooper Worx was a dealers spec edt new shape over 200 bhp think it was doing 215 JCT 600 own demo model (insasne) but that was at limit for chassis really. They eat fuel alive the Mk1 Cooper S, very prone to front suspension problems & parts are costly as in effect it is a BMW far from Mini prices trim parts are cheap mechanical parts not. As you say ride is frim handling is great though like a go kart Personally, don't agree with trim level it aint that great in a Cooper S Mk1 tyres are expensive as run flat pirellis also as you say fairly anonymous & every estate agent uner the sun had one & far to common Supercharger whine addictive ? fit a BMC properly & thats more addictive than crack ! end of the day your money your choice I don't think they are worth the money & would look elsewhere or keep Lupo. The lupo is more unique
  20. I have an tuned Audi TT 3.2 DSG fitted with a Milltek system not a lot will touch it on the road nukes an R32 in standard form Still enjoy driving my Lupo Gti as a weekend toy but thats why i bought it because it reminded me of my much missed Mk1 Golf Gti Campaign won't sell it, won't ever make the same mistake again. Suppose I am lucky as have best of both worlds It isn't all about speed its about how much fun you can have the Lupo is tuned to 140 bhp & is great fun & a real talking point as you probably remember from owning yours, hardly anyone knows what they are I wouldn't hesitate to buy back a Lupo gti it is in the all time top 10 VW's to drive before you die for good reason, good luck if you decide to try & bag a nice, straight one as they are now in even shorter supply
