  1. right, my problem is this: I can't find the tabs... when I took the cover/tray off the bottom there's a honeycomb type thing that stops me getting to the bottom of the coin/cup tray... am I just being thick and missing something??? Getting to the point of wanting to punch it now lol
  2. Got the screws off now but can't get the tray out? Will keep playing with it til I get it done - cheers
  3. Yes it is, but where are the torque screws located please?
  4. Hi peeps I have a 1.4 sport Lupo and I have managed to lose my fuel card into the recess that the coin tray slips into............... how the hell do I get the tray out to get my card back???? Please help! Thank you
  5. We have a black new beetle and we use Meguiars Scratch X, it works wonders (but don't polish it off by going round in circles it will make them worse!) - remember to polish and then wax your car afterwards as it will have no protection from the elements. Smoothing the paintwork with a Clay Bar works too... for more information on meguiars stuff, their website is: Meguiars Website Link Their products are sold in almost every Halfrauds branch and in some independent car shops too.
  6. Well.... unless you have a magic dragon stashed away behind your dash, I'd check the fuses out lol
  7. Thanks always trying to push the boundaries of "sensible"
  8. lmao Y'see my children are different to others, they've been brought up with *loud* music (before anyone starts, it's not that loud lol)... they ASK me to turn it up - they love the "thump thump" on their backs - must admit tho... it's one hell of a lot louder once they've been kicked out of the car and into school
  9. This is my Lupo, it's jazz blue... I think yours is soft blue as others have said...
  10. agreed, the most gutting thing is that it never comes up for sale again so it's lost forever!
  11. Just cleared the shite out of my car at the weekend, but stashed away is: Driver's side pocket: a toilet roll (I have children and can't stand sticky fingers - or noses- in the car! lol - also for bird poo!) A pen Some paper and evvo.co.uk flyers so where do I get ClubLupo ones from? Cd's (club, drum n bass, and old skool from my dj days) Ventolin inhaler Passenger side pocket: Tiny torch Dash shelf: Toys: An ickle pink and a slightly bigger grey rat (both from when I had a 1959 rat-ride beetle). Radley umbrella Coin tray: Texaco Fuel Card Pound coin trolly-thingy Spare change for car park (edit: my eldest daughter nicked it this morning) Dash board: Small Lupo car model Flower air freshener from Tesco Back seat: 2 child booster seats and 2 cushions for their ickle heads Boot: 12" Fusion sub/amp tube (who needs a boot anyway? lol) Bonnet Bra cover oh and btw... the tube only just fits... it doesn't even need strapping down, it's wedged in
  12. Well, if you hang around waiting for the v5 to come along your insurance company will suspend the pay-out to you for your car - if your car is on finance (like ours was) then you can't hang around as you have to pay the finance people and the insurance settlement will come down in value the longer it goes on - if you own your car outright (like we do now! lol) then you can "afford" to wait a while then it's ok, but most people need the settlement to be able to buy another car to replace the written off one... it is an unfair system I agree and my only advice would be not to hang around and do the retention as soon as is possible - most insurance companies take about a month to write off anyway. At the moment DVLA are taking about 2 weeks to send a V5 back so it's not too bad. As soon as the paperwork has been processed then the registration has been taken off and the original plate is re-assigned to the car but the insurance company won't settle until they've got the V5 and mot's, service history, etc. It costs £105 to have a plate put on retention, but this includes the re-assignment fee so you won't have to pay again when the plate goes on your next car.
  13. No, it's registered to the car, not to you and if you don't transfer the reg onto a retention certificate quickly enough then you'll lose it, it can take anything from a week to 28 days depending on how busy DVLA are - the replacement V5 is what takes the time... the insurance won't write off the car without it... oh, and it costs about £105... all explained here: Retaining a registration mark
  14. I think it looks great - I bought a plate for my husband, his name is Rhett and it was R444ETT - ok, so it doesn't spell his name "properly" but it's kinda there ........ unfortunately, I crashed, smashed and well and truly bashed the bmw that it was on and we lost it when they wrote off the car cos we couldn't get the plates removed quickly enough

  18. My husband bought my Lily a bonnet mask from Autobra and I fitted it yesterday afternoon (as well as her new German plates)... I think she looks cool.... but where the hell do you put all those elasticy things to hold it on??? I stretched the 2 long ones to the back of the bonnet and hooked them into a trim hole and the middle small one? - well, I don't have a bloomin clue! Anyways, here's Lily:
  19. You remember me taking that pic? cool... well thinking about it, it's not like i can blend into the crowd or anything pmsl... I was too shy and I wasn't sure if it was you that owned it or not

    Lupo GTi

I was new a couple of weeks ago and posted the same sort of question about looking out for stuff... the main thing to check is has it had the pedal box done... do a search and you'll find a sticky thread about them... I don't know if it includes the GTi or not - oh and welcome btw
