  1. I managed it for nearly three years
  2. I've got 10 weeks to go til my holiday, and I really need to think about doing the same thing... Probably going to go along with petes idea of doing 30 minutes of walking on a daily basis as there are some rather nice places to go for walks near me... Last year I lost a shed load by jogging on the tread mill at the gym, but on returning from my holiday, I rushed back into jogging (too fast too soon) and Lacerated the cartilege in my knee, which took four months to recover from, eventually got back into it, but then my ridiculously expensive gym membership ran out a month and a bit ago thus I've only been doing my daily walking around work / the house etc. I've put on nearly a stone because of this. Recently started eating lettuce and cucumber etc with my lunch-time 'wholemeal' sandwich every day, and trying to stick to porrige for breakfast, but without the exercise, I just don't seem to be losing anything. Now the sun's out, I think its time to start doing something...
  3. Can of worms matt, Can of worms...
  4. To be fair, if you sign your insurance proposal for a Standard car, the insurance company is well within their rights to cancel your policy at the first sight of any modification whatsoever. Just about the only modification that you dont have to inform them about is Upgraded light bulbs or a CD player.
  5. with an ET0 the hub-mount surface of the wheel is going to be slap-bang in the middle of the centre line of the wheel! Comparing an ET0 to an ET25, you will be pushing the outer lip of the wheel an inch futher out from the car. On a GTI you would be looking at a heck of a lot of arch work to fit this in, Even with an insanely stretched tyre!
  6. He's not on about using rear calipers on the front, He's on about using rear calipers / carriers from an oct VRS and discs from the front of a lupo sport etc.

  9. I'm guessing its pointless without sound then...
  10. Tents are the way forward at edition38
  11. In the form of Flies etc ? I noticed that with the bora, the airbox was packed full of dead bees, wasps, flies etc.
  12. Air at Grille level is slightly colder than it is at, say shin height. So in ways of performance, the upper radiator grille would be the best place to have a cold air feed, also this should help keep the length of the feed down to a minimum which can also help.
  13. Replacing the original air feed pipe with one that goes direct from the front grille to the airbox would be best, But of course you may be limited by access to the front grille itself.
  14. Mk2 Ibiza Cupra Early Golf 3 VR6 Corrado VR6 B5 Passat G60 Quite a few cars used these carriers. If you want some brand new ones, Mike at VW Speed is doing them ridiculously cheep! I paid £170 (ish) for mine back in the day! (last year) Cheepest place I've found
  15. I know it may not help any of you, But at awesome we can offer a custom remap, with before and after Rolling Road Graphs for £375.+vat. Custom remaps on a rolling road are much better for the car, as everything on your car is taken into consideration and the parameters are set to suit YOUR vehicle, rather than created on one vehicle and loaded onto several different cars. We don't offer a generic remap for the reason that what's best for one car, may not necesarily be the best or even good for another car. Feel free to give us a call if you are interested. Cheers, Al.
  16. Nice car craig, You've chosen the right colour again! Next time your down here, Nip it by us, and We'll put a trial APR Remap on the car for you free of charge! The remap lasts for 6 hours of driving, and you should see an increase to about 215bhp / 230lb/ft Cheers, Al.
  17. You'll probably find with the FSD Shocks that it won't drop as much as the lowered springs say they will drop it. I.e. 35mm drop Eibach springs on FSD Shocks only tend to give a drop of between 15 and 20mm !
  18. We can do the 6 pot kit with a one peice disc for £650 + Carriage + Vat it would be a special order, probably looking at about two weeks for us to get in. If you could check how much space is between the original caliper and the back-side of the spokes on your wheel, we'll be able to give you an idea of how close the fitment of the caliper will be, or indeed if it will fit at all. Thanks. Al @ Awesome GTi
