got the loop lowered last night,bought - 40 mm springs n dampers (from a club looper whos name escapes me,sorry m8!!!),as cant go the shlammmmed coily route like the bug as it HAS to stay drivable(the boss says so!!) its not miles lower but will settle a bit more and handles a million times better though with miles less understeer which is always good needs a rear anti roll bar now though to really sort the handling!! check the arch gaps on the first pics after .....smaller arch gap also fitted some diadems and some aero wipers,need some new wiper arms though as mine are in **** condition,will have to spray em but cant imagine theyre expensive from vw? hopefully my temp/winter wheels arrive on friday,then its onwards with the interior,then ill probably get bored and sell it and start all over again with something else h ah dan

yeah im there as usual in the newly lowered loop now though as the bugs off the road dan

have you seen the 16"cup s ?? the ones in the pic are 17" the 16 s look awful they have thinner more angular spokes the 17 cup one is imho one of the best looking wheels period but the 16 looks rank ill see if i have a pic dan

looks fantastic i reckon ,great to see a gti in a non standard colour,that really puts me off getting one, the fact they come in such a limited colour choice good work ,but would look so much better with a blck n orange retrim m8 ha ha dan

i think the steels look cooler than the bbs,theyll be a tough act to follow

anyone know where i can get some cusom adaptors made? i guess any decent engineering shop should be able to do em but id prefer someone that has experience doing them and knows the score any help appreciated peeps not sure what size i need yet as waiting to hear from the wheel suppliers what pcd and et the wheels i want are? dan

yeah too right the wheels on the bug are impreza wheels with sti centres and jdm stripes but that was a year and a half ago and now i think they look a bit dated even team dynamics/halfords are doing striped rims thats always a sign to move on ? dan

cheers folks ,found some awesome yank rod wheels but they dont do them in regular fitments anyone know anyone who can make up adaptors in any size/spec cheers dan

i really wanted a set but the offset was a little higher than i wanted and i didnt want to have to use adaptors to push em out best price i got was £530 inc yokohama tyres from a guy on fleabay which included tuner bolts too they are an awesome looking wheel also liking the gt3 ones too dan

not taken em off my camera yet as been having pc issues ,will get some up later and post them for you dan

check out fleabay for curved superbike rim tape especially for wheels,had mine on the bug about a year and a half now and its not suffered at all really gives it a lift though although i always think it looks a bit 'jap'?? not sure if thats a good or bad thing though? dan

this is awesome,i ve been following the progress for a while now and it looks like it ll be front drive instead of rear which is a shame as i was quite intrigued by a 'proper' succesor to the original beetle was all over it like a rash at goodwood (apparently it wont be at the motorshow!!) got some really good pics of it especially the interior ,if it looks anything like the concept my names on the list!! also if vw do what they did with the IROC concept then this is the successor to the lupo!! IROC becomes sc-IROC-co UP becomes l-UP-o dan

the rod theme continued last night with some pinstriping courtesy of simon aka nefarious check him out on http://www.pinstriping.co.uk or www.nefarious.co.uk if you fancy some doing or some webdesign palaver been gagging to get it done for ages now but finally managed to get time to head on up to his gaff and heres the result,dead pleased with it and think itll really work with the other mods i have planned for the little loop. you really need to see it in the flesh the pics dont do it justice will probably have some interior parts done too once more of the cars trimmed also ditched the lupo badge on the boot lid and dewipered it and fitted black vw badges front and rear managed to track down the wheels i want too thanks to nef so its all systems go if i can get em in the right offsets and fitment oh and a little on the front too dan

did nt realise they were as wide as that ?thought the early ones had much narrower ones on?

well have ya? or fitted any other interesting mirrors(not m3 thanx) pics please if so ill probably get slated but i really like em ,but i can only find universal ones that fit on model specific baseplates and im a bit worried they ll look gash? cheers dan
