  1. Ice Cream Social Club As some of you know I have worked all over Europe and the US of A Covering Many A show, travelled many a mile and taken a bucket load of pictures! Up until now, these have been seen to the general public and kept for various media outlets, but that has now all changed, and Ice Cream Social Club was created. Ice Cream Social Club is a club for everyone regardless of whats on your drive, an apperication of chilling out and enjoying the good times. A place where people might get to see themselves in images taken randomly, in a funky ‘behind-the-scenes’ which hasnt been seen before. So why not pop on to the facebook page and see if you have been papped and remember the shows from back in the day! Shows covering from 2005 to present day And if you feel you have the skills to match our photographers / video editors then get in touch, as we are looking for one or two extra hands who step up to the table and get aboard something new and very exciting. Ice Cream Social Club is about to bring the VW media to a whole new meaning from the Far East To Europe to the US of A!! So head over to our facebook page, like us and getting tagging!! www.facebook.com/icecreamsocialclub Cheers
  2. Its not very often i would do this cause its not very often you get a decent business who goes that extra mile to help someone out. Meet Pacman One very reliable little car :-) My good lady's car's mot ran out recently and I was sent to a good garage thru a friend for the Mot on her Ibiza. We turned up and everything was going fine until the emissons test and it failed, not just by a little bit but by a big bit. :-( The garage doing the mot was fully booked and couldnt look at the car for a few days and being this was her only mode of transport to get to work it was like oh man what do we do now?? The car had a MOT until the Monday but after that nothing! So what do we do?? Well after a few posts on a forum in regards to fix the problem with either the lambda prode or the cat it was off to Euro Carparts to get the parts I thought i needed, but low and behold good old euro car parts had nothing in stock! Just typical eh? Onwards to Autoparts in Hamilton who had the front lambda prode in stock, and it was a good £40 cheaper than eurocarparts! Result or was it? What if the front probe was fine and the rear was the problem or what if it was the cat!!! Jesus a stressful Sat morning to start with!! But there was light at the end of the tunnel. When i was asking for a good safe trust worthy mechanic a few people mentioned Marc at "..The Garage.." was he open a Saturday afternoon? Well one way to find out, a quick nip over to his garage in Motherwell and low and behold he was. Now i was a punter off the street, someone he never met before or knew but as sound as i walked in i was made to feel like a friend. Talk about friendly communication, he asked to see the mot sheet for the failures and ran thru what it could be, then he was like uch its only 1pm fire the car round the back and i will get the laptop out and we can see what the fault is! Result. Most people know Marc for his TOTB skylines, Scoob's and Evo's just think all the dubbers in the world would be cringing letting a Jap Specialist loose on a vag car! But i had every faith in the man, because when you went round in the garage there was a few vw and audi's in getting repaired!!! The old phrase never judge a book by its cover sprung to mind at this point. Marc pop'ed the laptop open and plugged it in and away he went doing his stuff, 10mins later he was like its the front probe, and luckily it was the one i had picked up from Autoparts earlier on. Tool box opened and away he went, old probe out and new probe eh still in box, Autoparts gave us the wrong one :-( but that didnt stop Marc, he tried a few tricks, cleaned it and plugged it back in. Jumped in the car and took it to be retested again, but sadly another fail! But a man on a mission is a man not to be messed with, left him for a hour or so with the car doing other bits whilst his team made me feel right at home, tea coffee? biscuits YES PLEASE!!! The banter for the next hour was great truely felt like it was a mates garage at the house on a sunny Saturday afternoon, now it wasnt just me but a chap with a 450hp skyline who was in for the banter aswell. These jap' fans aint that bad!! Pity dont get the old detailing markley but hey! They are all about the power lol!!! Did I just say that out loud?? LOL Anyways round 3pm Marc came in and said look he needs the car back in MOnday and he will order the correct parts allowing the car to be fixed proper. So off I toddled back home after a stressful but good day!! Monday morning came and woke up to Snow, Snow and more Snow!!! But that didnt stop the Pacman getting to Motherwell for the next bit of fun!! Car was dropped off just after 8.30am and I had to be in Glasgow for 10am for a meeting, not knowing the area and were the train or local bus to Glasgow was, Marc got one of his team to drop me off at the station!! Result esp in the Snow! lol The day went along nicely and at 1pm my sectary told me when i came out of the meeting that Marc had called. The car was fixed the problems solved and MOT passed!! Having a bit longer with the car he quickly sourced the problem, a electrical fault with one of the wires from the probe, 10mins later it was fixed and problem solved, it flew the emisson test! Now i was thinking Jesus its gonna be expensive, a diagnostic test on saturday, another MOT fee and then few hours on sat and few hours on mon labour charge, but how shocked was I to find how well priced Marc was!!! And again the fact they dropped me off and picked me up that evening too!! I know Marc has a amazing repetation for his knowledge in Jap cars but to be fair his knowledge in the vag range out stands me!!! So much so I would say seriously stop using who your using and get your backside down to his place!!! He has the Audi at present doing the next wee trick ;-) and the fact when i suggested it to him he never bat a eyelid like yeah i can do that not a problem!! And again price, everyone else was quoting silly money to do it, but Marc put a reasonable price on the table and to be honest I know i can trust him!! Big Thumbs Up From Me!!! Anyone fancy'ing a MK3 with a skyline lump??? ;-) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.the-garage.co.uk
  3. Sometimes you dont truely appericate architecture as much wen you see it from a different light, the way the angles the structures the materials all have a different composite at nite as they do the day time, over the next coming weeks i aim to build a collection of midnight to morning shoots of glasgow. So thursday 18th i set off at 7pm and wandered on thru to friday morning at 4am and this is the results so far, the weather was heavy rain so gave some nice effects, all judgement is welcomed and i no they aint anything special. hope u like and maybe love glasgow that little more :-)
  4. we shot it friday nite/ sat morn to 3am then at 8am it was stripped!!! oh yes!!! we always have space in our cars, always get some big cars to do this in!!! wait to see my mini big adventure for the MIVW!!!
  5. and as u can see our passat was eyeing up the tidy mk3 turbo vr6 and saying yes ur fast, but u dont do 72mpg!!! hahaha and mr poah thought it was ok to just be sitting around and playing with his camera!!! turned my back and everyone was gone!!! it was like a ghost town, all i needed was the tumble weed to roll past! oh wait a minute does a wheel trim count? even another golf turned up and still no was to be seen it was time to head to the reception and asked wot was going on!!!! but having seeing wot happened to the reception it was time to run like the wind ;-) so back to the business, as normal its all about the moving of the car small bits here and there and a bit of the chat in between :-) something i am very good at!!! and then it was all over, all done, mission done with the two cards done dusted, it was time to head back to sunny, but the sat nav was tired and stopped working!!! What way is it boys?? ahh bugger it, we will just follow u for a min, haha well it was a successful 24hrs! job done, boss man happy -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- but in fair nees this is why we get the cars, we have the best shooter's around, now lets see if that certain other vw magazine can raise there game and bring it to the table ;-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.thegolf.co.uk In All Good Retailers This Friday 1st August 2008
  6. The Mission if you choose to accept it mr loaf was the call i had from the boss man Glasgow -> Northampton -> Liverpool -> Glasgow 2 cars, 2 shoots, and lots of sun shine Mission Accepted (well it would be rude not too!!!) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our choice of weapon this time round was a bluemotion passat, well we gotta save the environment dont we?? so off we set on route to mr sweet's house, yes i have the address now we can hang out round his house claim extra scene points (i think thats how it works) this was going to be the last ever shoot of the car EVER!!! as Simon had his pals sorted for the saturday morning strip, so it felt real good knowing we would be the last ever team to shoot it, and watch simon give it some proper!!!! so after a few hours nippin south, in the glorious sunshine, we finally found northampton they have not moved it recently which made it easy to find, well the first time i tried i ended up in london, so i am glad edition38 have voted to keep it in the same place :-) once we finally arrived it was time to head off and see what was what and were we could do the shoot! yes we still had the sat nav on, we are tourists!!! lol as we headed to the first location, i noticed simon must have made a mistake somewere along the lines of building this mk2, i mean did he not know his tyres were too thin for his wheels, surely this was DANGEROUS!!! i mean they could blow up and take out a small school!!! ;-) at this point being concerned for my safety i thought i would let the world know i was there, just incase they could not identify our bodies looked up and that 20v must have kicked in!! he was gone!!! gone like the wind!!! was he hiding? was he off cleaning it again? at one point i said to mr poah, here i think he is there!!! looooooooooooooooooook! but then it was clearly pointed out that was just some moxy's! or 25t dump trucks ;-) once we found mr sweet he was primed and ready and this is were i discovered i had left my insulin pen in glasgow (oh bugger) so leaving mr poah and mr sweet with a polish lorry driver i thought it was time to go visit northampton's finest a and e to get some drugs :-) having spent a hour or so and about a tenner in hospital car parking tickets it was time to head back to meet the pair, well to see if they were still alive, maybe that polish lorry driver who was enjoying the free magazines we gave him, maybe he had gagged tied and in the back of the lorry with a mk2. BUT They were safe and they had moved onto the next location, and all set up and ready to rock and roll again, and we were not there long before the secuirty team, well one large ass chick came to us to tell us that we had to stop wot we were doing, as it was a national security risk! she claimed taking pictures in a tesco underground car park was potentially dangerous as we could be selling the images to terrorists! i was shocked would terrorists really wanna blow up tesco? i mean its tesco! morrisons i can understand but tesco is proper cheap :-) oh yeah it was also time for some mcdonalds too, cos i was bloody hungry!!!! nothing but the best for us ;-) so since we were not allowed to be shooting there no more it was time to pack up and head to location number 3, but has we were leaving we spotted the r32 of matt from reflex, surely if u shop at tesco in northampton u must be a scene whore (not the pink heart type!!) but a proper scene collecting one!!! and with my insulin kicking in i was ready to party the nite away!! once we got to location number 3, it was time to unpack it all again and set up, this time terrorists or no terriosts it was happening! they were not messing with us glasvegas folk!!! and at a nice 2am it was a rap! not as in gangsta rap but a rap for us, and for the mk2, since as everyone seen the next day the pictures of the strip down!!! and for us it was time to head up the m6 a bit to the hotel and crash for the next adventure the day after, could the passat keep up with a turbo vr6, well hell yes!!! ok maybe 10miles behind it but hell yes!!! lol so as the sun rose, the sleepy eyes were opened and the all u can eat breakfast bar was hit hard, and with a few extra crossiants stuffed in the pocket off we headed to the sunny town which is liverpool, and having recieved a pic msg from mr sweet showing the strip down had begun it was truely good to be round the car for the last time ;-) we decided with the mk3 we wanted something different, we didnt want the typical boring ind estate shoot which u see all the time (think out side the box the boss told us, which he knows with me could be one dangerous move, or a stupid idea lol!!!!) a nice run down part of the docks were the salt is sorted, or should i say SALTED ;-) oh yes bad jokes too!!! and like most shoots the glamrous part is always about the waiting around
  7. Having spoke with the guys and girls at Detailed and such like, it was brought up that there has not been a proper collection for Dan which will be passed to the fund set up by his family for his kids etc. As you enter the show there will be buckets for any thing you wish to contribute to it, be it 5pence to £100 what ever you can afford will be deeply appericated by the detailed crew, as Dan was close to them and they felt this is one of the best ways to help out! So why not bring along some of the spare parts or stuff you dont need to sell at the show and dontate it, member that old lip spoiler? sell it for a fiver, a fiver you can pass on :-) Thanks For Reading Ps. copy and paste on as many forums as you can, lets make it a full bucket or two :-) With over 20,000views it just shows how much a legend he truely was, and he always helped out a fellow dubber!! http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=162058
