  1. you keep your theiving little hands off of my car.
  2. Well guys I'll be leaving London at the end of september and having a few drinks to celebrate, anyone that fancies crashing will catch me in Minories, near tower gateway DLR from 1700 onwards on Friday 26th September- object of the evening is to DRINK lots and maybe Curry afterwards dependent upon ability to stand.
  3. i thought I was more than helpful on tyresmoke. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> AlanVW - tyresmoke is at www.tyresmoke.net And there is a lot of flash cars ont he site - but there is also a lot of normal cars which are quite basic compared to the Lupo GTi so you shouldnt feel inadequate or inferior. Come along to the meet in Windsor on Weds, I'll be there in the A2 along with the TVRs, Porsches, M3's and Oil burning A3's. The site is just for people that enjoy cars the car you have is irrelevent. Edited By beer monsta on Aug. 24 2003 at 18:35
  4. Here is a picture of the lights fitted for you: Hella Lamps I used clear lens covers for fog light and reverse light so that it looked symetrical. The large rings are the reflectors so this set up is totally legal. Mine were sourced through Road and sport developements as they have contacts with hella.
  5. Hey Nef - good to see ya. In the earlier Lupo days the changer was a boot mount option - which (IMO) was daft as the changer bracket bolts to the back of one of the rear seats and fills half og the rear of the boot. I can check my garage I may have the mounting stuff still kicking around (cant remember if I threw it out or not). I actually removed my boot changer and brought the Blaupunkt 5disk indash changer which was ok, but not as cool as the VW single slot one. As for the wiring well if it is built like the Audi A2 then there will be no wiring at all, so you'll need to run them back. Mine ran from H/U down, under carpet along centre tunel, along carpet just under the rear seat to the passenger side, up behind the trim panel and into the boot area.
  6. A thread regarding rally europe is here And the home page here Anyone going?
  7. Nope - I think its because you keep driving into things..... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
  8. I got a spare Sony MEX5DI laying around, MP3 cd headunit, with 4.5"TFT widescreen and also has memory stick slot to upload more images - good unit, non amplified so great in something like the TT. I couldnt believe Halfords wanted nearly £1100 for this unit - robbery.
  9. For your 1 litre - I would suggest doing nothing much at all and saving your money, if I am honest even if you spent a lot and had it turbo charged and tuned what are you going to get 110bhp? Not really worth it, save your money for something that comes faster out of the wrapper - I know it is easy for me to say, but even the TT is limited 450 or so and thats with a lot of money spent. BUt if you want performance either trade to a Japanese car like an ITR where there is a lot of tuning options available and not much money or wait until you can get your hands on something with more capacity 1.6 / 1.8 / 2.7, you will have far more fun with your money.
  10. I think the problem is making the electircal bits all work, perhaps if you scrap the factory imobiliser and management system then this could be cheaper. I think also the engine mounts are in a strange place on the lupo, off the inner wings - not sure but I think so, so I guess new mounts would hae to be fabricated. 1.8T engine cant be much more than £2k
  11. The problem with the turbo is that you would haev to alter the compression ratio t suit forced induction, I guess this would mean changing the pistons and stuff like that, but the issue would be that if you are doing that then you may as well go for titanium pistons and uprated valves, springs, bearings, etc, etc, etc - becomes big money, perhaps you could change the bore and stroke to give you a 1.7 or 1.8 litre unit which would improve torque figures for you. I'd just go for the 1.8T conversion myself if you want that kind of power - AmD haev a 1.8T with oettinger conversion in their workshop, 240bhp, not bad.
  12. I have had to make changes for every aftermarket unit I haev fitted to a VW, autoleads always seem to get it wrong, usually it is the permanent 12 that is in the wrong place, and if they were being cheap then they will have moved the wires in the cars iso connector, best way it to use a multi meter and check they are in the right places.
  13. Next meet will be Wednesday 29th Jan @ 7pm at the Crispin Pub on the A332 between Windsor and Ascot. Map: Map I wont be able to make this one though as it is Newcastle Spurs that night.
  14. I havent seen confirmation yet, but I believe Ace Cafe meet is going to be on 28th Jan, Ace Cafe, North Circ, London. Sam and I both managed to get there last time, and it wasnt a bad little event.
  15. No date set yet, although last one was 25th Dec so maybe end Jan.......
  16. Tyresmoke.net has several meets in the London regions most months if folks are interested. You can usually find Sam and myself at the Essex (Chelmsford A12) and Kent (Maidstone) meets, I also do the Windsor meets quite often, these are all fairly easy from central london. Tyresmoke is a `non-brand` specific car forum so cars from all brands are welcome, currently the forum covers Audi, VW, Porsche, TVR and Scooby/Evo.
  17. Sam has a gallery of her car on the `Audi-sport`.net forum, you could try looking there. http://www.`audi-sport`.net/gallery/albun93?&page=2
  18. Had problems with mine not returning properly when I first got the car - ended up fixing it myself, soon sorted. Must confess I do miss the Lupo Headlights........
  19. Why dont you just buy my SOny with its mini disk changer? Much better option and it looks cool. DO ya a deal
  20. The K&N kit I had fitted to my GTi now on another GTi in the midlands was from a Polo and that fits just nice - and sounds lurvely too, I just brought it and gave it a try its was only £70ish (I think).
  21. Never Brought Zender kit, but I'd speak to Man3 about lower as he has coilovers fitted, which if you see the for sale adds, he may split from his car.
  22. Several manufacturers do colour match now, even the Sony Active black panel ones have red/blue display when panel is open. THing to remember as I think Matt will testify is that there is not much room behind there, both of us at one point had an in dash changer above/below the standard unit and all that cable was a nightmare.
  23. I am likely to be a D on this - Car is going into garage again in a week or so and not likely to get it back in time. NO i have pranged it again - I have a couple of issues I want solving by the dealer while I still have a warrenty, oh and also looking at adjustable control arms and short shifter kit.
  24. I might be good for this as well - depending upon date, be fun to play with a few other cars....... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
