I'm pretty sure mine had that same gap when i had mine off before, at a guess its to let a little bit of air in whilst the car is stationary?

Right, found out the problem on my GTI was the drive shaft, luckily a mate had a spare one. Took the old one off the car tonight. Went to put new boots on the new drive shaft but i noticed the gearbox end had no movement like the old one off the car. Can't work out why its not moving. Made a quick video to show what i mean.

Yeah it is, its not drive shafts rubbing.

I have plugged my VCDS in and nothing came up. Definitely drive shaft was the problem

Plumbed it back in to work the same as the standard setup.

I thought that first as well but had a look and its definitely not that. Just been to a mates garage and he is convinced its driveshaft :/

Any ideas?

I'm pretty sure that as its a sort of knocking noise as well, it disappears over 30-40mph. Had a good look today and can't spot anything obvious

Had a quick search but found nothing exactly the same problem as mine. I went for a random drive tonight and as i was nearly home i heard a horrible grinding noise coming from the front right. It doesn't make a difference if i'm turning the wheels or not. It does it i coast in a straight line as well. Also when i rev it slightly the revs seem to drop very slowly. Does this sound like gearbox or driveshaft? Thanks,

Well the latest mod is a new intake set up, i went for the BMC with custom stainless pipework. Quite pleased with how it looks and it sounds nice too Stupidly i forgot to get picture with the engine cover off but these are the 2 pictures i took

Well i fitted the spring yesterday and it definitely made closing the bonnet easier! But my handle inside the car has gone really loose?

I done this a few weeks back, it does make a difference!

It will bolt straight on but then there is wiring to for airbag/horn etc

Huw on here did have some Porsche calipers for sale, not sure if he still has them or not.

You need a Rayon pad and some Cerium Oxide.
