  1. That's shocking! You'd think a consultant (i presume we're talking about a consultant Doctor or Surgeon and not a computer consultant) could afford a taxi without my tax £ paying for it.
  2. don't know why I upset about it - I've got free reign today. Some unfortunate junior is going to be doing some serious coffee runs in about 5 minutes, while I spend the whole day on here. He's got that Jag XK which I'm sure he said he had an all wheel drive version so he should be able to cope with the snow. His Mrs has a disco so he could always use that. Skiving style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":censored:" border="0" alt="censored.gif" /> .
  3. I'm looking out of the window of my office and there is not one flake of snow on Grey St in Newcastle. The boss lives about 20 miles away and he reckons he is snowed in! How do they get away with it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  4. That's crazy - I just sat pressing refresh every 3 seconds and the number is bouncing up.
  5. I've had on a pretty good basement jax cd - it's a wierd mix that I found in ford focus hire car I had about 2 months back. So i stole it! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" /> Only problem is it makes me drive fast - so when that happens I put Belle and Sebastian, Life Pursuits on. Wish I had a multi changer so I could had more than 1 in at once.
  6. Just seen this thread. I don't drive a GTi style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> but i share some of the problems. Ditto with the starter motor - sometimes it is fine but sometimes it keeps going and makes this god awful metalic crunch sound thing (technical or what!) Rear washer doesn't work - like Niki I'm hoping something has just come loose and not a split in a tube or anything serious. Drivers side window is not working at all - the passenger window works after a little bit of swearing at and telling it I will crush the car unless it starts to work. Just noticed from the log that it hasn't had a 60k service (not my fault I bought the car on 67k) and it's just ticked to 70k. I'm going to put it in for it's MOT in march and have a service and everything fixed at the same time - better start saving! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" /> (always wanted to use the ninja and never have so I'm doing it now)
  7. Ha Ha - the gauges are probably made from discarded chewing gum wrappers and match sticks! Obviously, I just used them as an example :cough: I wasn't going to buy one of those ones. 2hr 50mins til the bell goes - come on!
  8. I'm sure you get a fairly heavy bill for knocking a lamp-port out of line as well. One of my mates drove into one and he got a bill of a couple of hundred from the council for repair to the pole. Hope he recovers soon - bit of a silly idea driving into one of those things though - tell him to try a bush or something next time - much softer.
  9. I think I'm just one of these people that likes as much information as possible even if I don't know what it means. I think a rev counter is a good idea though.
  10. Little Green Giant - Nova style, I like it. I'll get some Ripspeed seat belt pads. Punch a couple of holes in the exhaust with a nail for that "authentic rumple" and paint some go faster stripes on the bonnet with Dulux one coat gloss. The worst job i have ever seen on a car was a batter old Ford Orion - it had no interior at all and no windows (front/rear/side anything) - the driver was sitting on a patio chair bolted to the floor. It was so funny & scary at the same time!
  11. My apologies! Cheers chaps and chapettes. I couldn't really tell from Joh898. Today is dragging - can't believe it's only 12 - come on 5 o' clock and the weekend!!! My apologies! Cheers chaps and chapettes. I couldn't really tell from Joh898. Today is dragging - can't believe it's only 12 - come on 5 o' clock and the weekend!!!
  12. Cheers for the feeback - very helpfull. I might do it - but keep it quiet so I don't get blasted for being chav scum style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Think I'll do a but more reseach as I have no idea how you plumb these things in! Take it easy chaps style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />
  13. I was affriad this was going to be the feedback. It's the same with my amp in the house - i know the one with hardly any controls and no digi read out is the best, but I can't resist dials and controls. I think the jury is still out - I just can't stop wanting them. I'll be ditching my brogues in favour of some Rockports soon. ARRRGGGGHHHHH style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
  14. My mate has a Clio Williams and it has some of those ancillary gauges in the dash - water temp, oil temp & oil pressure. I've always thought they looked class. They are probably not that useful but they are a cheep mod. I was thinking about putting in the in dash pod holder where the cup/coin holder is under the head unit. It looks like it fits - then put 3 gauges in. My question is - Are these a boy racer chav mod and do you reckon they'll be that hard to fit? I can't afford to do much to the Loop (budget tight for the next 12months) but I can justify this. Any feedback would be smashing.... http://www.monstermodz.co.uk/list_products.php?category=34 style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":coffee:" border="0" alt="coffee.gif" />
  15. Oh banded not branded. I didn't know what they were. I'm not an engineer but I've been told that if you get a good weld it can be stronger than the original material. So, surely if the weld is strong and the rotation is true they should be OK.... or am I completely off the mark??
  16. Branded steels? Are we talking about steel wheels? Why are these illegal?
  17. For the money you're going to spend on a fox, I think I have found you a much better alternative. Reliable - safe - even has 4 wheel drive for the winter months - leather throughout. I think you sister would love it. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/121454.htm style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":swerve:" border="0" alt="swerve.gif" />
  18. Sorry Tigz I didn't realise - i was just google searching VW Lupo as I'm a bit bored at work! You're not going to boot my @ss out with your Mod powers for copying your post are you??? Yeah it says it is the same deal for an Arosa.
  19. Not really sure what any of that means - but it sounds bad.... i think, yes? Our lass woke me up this morning to tell me the apartment was on fire. So I'm running around ******* naked at half 6 smelling things - to try and find the source of the fire. Stuck my head out in the hall and the lads next door had set fire to a piece of toast on the grill. Also, got a letter last night saying the debt collectors were turning up on our door step in 7 days for an updaid BT bill of £700, unless i made an immediate payment. Rang them up, it appears the lad who had the place before me racked up £700 notes with BT and £1500 with NPower and then b*ggered off. I'm paying **** all! So not the worst day but still badish. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  20. I never realised the Lupo had a 4 star rating. http://www.euroncap.com/content/safety_rat...d1=1&id2=27 I knew it was nippy but didn't realise that it was so safe as well - apparantly it cripples pedestrians however, but when do I ever walk anywhere??? Compare against the Punto - 2stars. Ford Ka 1.3 3 stars. Fiesta Zetec got 3 stars. Not an interesting post - but informative none the less.
  21. They cannot put this guy in prison. How can John Ried say only persistant criminals who pose a serious thret to the ocuntry shoud be jailed. Then not jail a couple of peados - and then the next week stick a speeding motorist in the nick. Just can't be done. The guy is obviously a complete and utter tool though to think he can get away with that speed. Reckon the Lupo could of beat him - on the style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> fly of course!
  22. I got a book off a mate - Autoglym car care ethos ... thing. It's really good and goes into cleaning the engine bay and everything. It's really in depth. It also advocates a 2 bucket method. Gave the Loop a clean and it looked showroom standard - took 3hrs + like!
  23. How did you lot get a picture of my girlfriend??? Not happy about this you lot taking the p1ss out of our lass!
  24. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" /> I'm honered - thank you.
  25. Just like to say on behalf of the newbies ("who have bought the Lupo more recently now that it's a bit cheaper") we are not all complete tw@ts who dream about smoking the police and day dreaming about doing 150 mph down the back streets. That's impossible - I've done 150mph + on the autobahns and things are coming up so quick that you couldn't possibly do that speed down the back roads unless your were some STIG like creation. I like this place because you have some people on here who have clearly owned a Loop for ages and if you need advise there is someone here who has done it all before and can point you in the right direction. Anyway, just wanted to say some of us still enjoy the quirkiness of the car and enjoy a Dub badge on a small less expensive car. But I agree we should all stand against these Charva boy racer monkies!
