  1. As much as this is awesome and everything, logging every single trip you make out and becoming this obsessed with fuel does make me wonder where the enjoyment of owning a car has gone..?
  2. Trying to organise a convoy to VW Days in France, looks like an awesome show so take a look at my facebook event below. https://www.facebook.com/events/597032026977877/ Invite whoever you'd like, and lets get as many people going as we can! PS - Mods, theres no international events place so i've just stuck it in the drivers lounge for now. feel free to move this thread.
  3. It's a bit frustrating though because when I first joined I had to send bikini pics of every female in my family. Where's the problem? It's just initiation into club lupo...
  4. Firstly, this thread was a JOKE intended to wind people up and have a JOKE and has now become slightly dull because of people like you think they can use expletives 100 times in a sentence and think they're all cool and hard. You've got on your high horse on a thread intended to be full of banter. I don't care what you think is better and I don't care if you or your mrs licks windows in their spare time. I just think your excessive use of "****" makes you look like a 12 year old spoilt child. Lol
  5. Hell yeah - let's do it! I'll drop you a message nearer the time, you're only up the road from me. My worry is I may not have coilovers by then. I'll have the coilies but not the money for the increase in premium! We will have to see...
  6. Fancy convoying there together?!
  7. They'll tuck a reasonably amount so yes they'll fit
  8. No but I'm going with Sitting Pretty, a club run by Becca who featured in the fast car magazine with her breadvan. £14 gets you a pass with them.
  9. What'd you reckon to my new (second hand) wheels? They're 15" 8J et25. Nice and wide but not too pokey for the lupo. I'm not into this "who's the lowest" competition so yes they'd need some arch work to fit perfectly, but that can happen in time. Fortunately, I have a friend with an arch roller, but that's another story. I'll be at a reasonable height for show season anyway as I need to take passengers. Originally imported from the US, these are made by a company called "Stance Wheels". I don't know if any of you follow sweetshop automotive, but Carl's C2 is currently rocking some wheels made by the same company, and is getting a lot of attention. They've got 185/50's wrapped on them, which I didnt manage to grab any pictures of. They've been balanced using the stick-on wheel weights though - win! This is how they sit on a lupo (with no arch work), the only decent photo I have of my friend's lupo (who I bought them off) from Players 6.0. Slag them off all you like if you want to - I like them though, and just wondered if I was the only one! haha! They're not going on the car yet, but should be on in time for show season. I believe they are based on an equip wheel, but not exact copies. I don't know, to be entirely honest. Dan
  10. Ok, as we get nearer to pay day I need to think of what coilovers I wish to invest in. Wheels are now sorted (pics to follow!), and I want to get low, but comfortably this time So what coilovers are you running and what's the ride quality like? My old polo used to bang and crash over everything and was terrible. It seems a lot of people buy JOM's... How're they? Also, anyone had any experience with other coilovers such as ones that PhilJ sells? AP's seem to be of reasonably quality but the lower the price tag the better. Yes I know you get what you pay for, but I just want your opinion on the coilovers you're running so I get a rough idea! Cheers, Dan I should probably state that I'm talking about coilovers in the budget end of the scale... I.e. <£400.
  11. Does anyone known exactly what a helper spring actually does? Seems to be a waste of time including them...
  12. What a nice guy the owner is too. Brilliant stickers, would use again, and again and again.
  13. Flare your arches so they're wider and therefore can accommodate the wide wheels better. Get more stretch on the go and/or lower profile tyres. Failing that, sell the cults and buy something more sensible, you must be very f'ing close to the ground on 13's and coils
  14. Awesome! That's ok buddy, it's what we're here for. It's perfectly safe but wait til you have the helpers out, try that, and if its still not low enough, remove adjusters!
  15. That'll be fine then! Look forward to seeing pics.
  16. Only some racing 13's might fit. But it's touch and go. 13's look shite on lupo's anyway. Just go bigger, you won't regret it.
  17. Scotty's right on this. Sorry guys. They rose the price of boys and rose the price of girls. Stupid, I know. You'll be able to be insured with good girl / diamond / Sheila's wheels etc etc because they now have to get their male quota up. If a gti is only 2k, buy a gti.
  18. This is a really dumb thread. Go for whatever you think looks good. You can make your own mind up... Lol. Please yourself not others. I believe 14's are fine, 13's won't be though. Don't quote me on that, but 14's run on my tdi sport fine, and I was under the impression we ran the same size brakes? Maybe I'm wrong, I'd like to know either way?
  19. This is probably a fair shout, because smashing sumps is never cheap, especially not at a garage. What exactly did you ask to get done? Adjusters out? Helpers out? Both?
  20. Rich, why are you banned from CP? Haha!
  21. This is a good point - I've only seen ray (I believe), I just assumed he was the only one!
  22. This is a fair response and I see what you're saying. You're right, I haven't been here long enough - but i'd like to be, hence why I'd rather not get banned for something small and stupid..
  23. I don't know whether this is a joke or not, but I quite like the idea of that... I don't see the stickers idea working but its not a terrible idea.
  24. simplest way is to take the helpers and adjusters out. then you'll go lower. failing that, look into other solutions. Cut springs and cable ties ftw.
