    Simpo's CTR

A ricer invasion would be cool, might see about getting Saturday. We will have to see .
  2. Another thing to add is that without camber shims on the rear a lowered lupo is likely to run allot of negative camber at the front as the wishbones are shifted upwards, and not very much camber on the rear due to the rear beam set up. Great for turn in as their is more grip at the front, but obviously has its downsides. Like being easier to spin.

Will be going to edition but for Sunday only as I work Saturdays.

    Simpo's CTR

Few new pics to keep this ticking over.
  5. Gti has a built in rear arb attached to the beam, so is more prone to these things than lesser models.
  6. Soak well in wd40, brute force, maybe some heat. If its really really stuck take the strut out and get it in a vice so you can attack it easier.
  7. Grease the threads the adjusters move on, just dont go crazy and smear copious amounts all over the strut and hubs etc. Imo hamerite would better protect the bottom of the strut anyway.
  8. By then its probably too late, after a few months of car use the copper slip will be black and covered in crap. Only said it as it happened to a mate in his polo.
  9. Copper slip the threads. Be warned that some MOT places may think you have bust a shock if go too over board with the grease.

    1.8 t conversion

Congratulations on the price, but remember you pay allot for a good tuners expertise and knowledge that it will be done well. Cheaper isn't always better
  12. I cant believe he is coming back, he left his career on such a high note. If it was me I wouldn't want to jeopardize it, especially as so much has changed. Must have been allot of money changing hands.

    Poly bushing...

Yes anything that is further along the chain such as top mounts etc. Coilovers are great, as for polybushing id recommend the jabba sport rear anti-roll bar first. Its likely to be more rewarding, making a big difference towards neutralizing some of the understeer and improving turn in.

  18. (Puts CTR blinkers on ) Mine is healthy, and is much faster than a friend of a friends Type-R. I also understand the point about torque although, though the FRS is almost 100kg heavier and over 10 seconds slower round the nurburgring. Im blaming granny shifting in the RS, I'll let him know he is a bad driver. ^Amen, the lupo gti is a quality package warm performance, the 182 is a hot hatch. As for integra's id love a DC2 just cant afford one yet and have the horn for something rwd
  19. Does this men your swaying away from revs and noise to the darkside of boost
  20. I have a mate with an RS Focus, and have tested the performance of my Civic against it a few times (when both were standard, as its now 330bhp and dusts me), and every time my car has been a little faster. Now my cars book 0-60 figure is 6.6 seconds and the clios is 6.7 so id say in a race they would be very even, and down to driver skill. The dif on the RS can be an arse as-well, on certain roads even with the massive power advantage I am much faster point to point as the power is unusable with the amount of squirm. Though coilovers and a thicker rear arb do give a slight advantage .
  21. I need another DDR asap
  22. There really is no need, even if you use it on track. The money is far better spent upgrading the front set-up.
