  1. Hey hope the Lupo is going well? thinking of coming back to another! Fond memories of a cracking car...

  2. looking for another Lupo Gti

  3. I was thinking you would have to go to the DVLA office with the new owner and do the change of address/ owner at the same time. This would mean the log book getting sent direct to the new owner...
  4. Now driving a Clio Trophy, but thinking about changing to another Lupo GTi... Is that a good idea?

  5. I have heard that you can go direct to your local DVLA office with all the necessary paper work and they will do it there an then? Worth a call I suppose... Let us know how you get on as I could be in the same position in he coming months!
  6. Congrats to the new owners! Hope you enjoy the car, I'll be missing it...... Hope to find a decent replacement soon....(Keep getting digs about moving from a VW to a Renault!) Look forward to seeing the 'Detailed' pix!
  7. Yep, been saying it for a while..nice to see it in print. Unfortunately my copy of this arrived the day my car was picked up by its new owner, Just to rub it in! Bugger.
  8. I see that! oops, what a bugger.
  9. Thanks, that would have been me...
  10. They use H7 bulbs, its covered in the car manual (3.2 Tips & Maintenance p17) Obviously reccomends a VW garage to fit too; but parts can be found on www.vagparts.com
  11. Just to let you all know if was the simple pull off type. Rubber clip things at the front and simply hooked under the rear piping! Thanks alot, all sorted....
  12. Thanks all, Will prise it off tonight then and have a play with it, Cheers.
  13. Hey, I had the same problem with my drivers side door (lupo Gti), I ended up replacing the door lock mechanism...dont have the part number to hand but think its around £80.00 so not cheap., my mate at VW says they tend to keep these parts in stock as its quite a common problem. Theres a small micro switch in this part that lets the car know when the door has been opened and its this that goes wrong. Unfortunatly no cheap fix, I decided to fit the part myself as my local VW specialist quoted around £150 to do the job, plus they could'nt guarentee it would fix the problem. It may be worth spraying WD40 into the lock to try and clean out any water, (Tip: Dont clean near locks and handles with a pressure washer! Think this is what ****ed mine) I took pictures of the job so i could post them along with the part no if you need. I suggest it might be worth getting your local garage to take a look as there input should be free, plus they might be cheaper then the places near me? Check it is only your passanger door with the problem, if its the micro switch when you open the problem door it also does not activate the interior light? Hope this is the start of the help you needed?
  14. Hi All, About to replace my air filter (just BMC Panel filter) and before i prise the engine cover off i want to check theres no retaining screws? No visible heads from what i can see, fees like its clipped on under the front? Any tips for removal appreciated as i dont want to break my cover! Thanks
  15. Hey all, Just for reference anyone reading this, I have fixed the problems covered above by replacing the Door Lock Mechanism. Part Number: 6X2837014C. £89.51 +VAT FROM VW Garage, slightly cheaper from VAGparts.com but you have to email and request them to put the part on the site to buy. I took the car into my VAG specialist but they didn’t want to change the part as its expensive and would not guarantee a fix to the problems. VW quoted 1 hours work (£75+VAT) to fit. Ended up doing it myself! Quite an easy job, will post pix some time soon. Anyone who has questions, feel free to PM me and will see if I can help. I hear this is a common part to go wrong and VW tend to keep this part on the shelf for such occasions! Whooo fixed!
  16. Thanks for the ideas, Sounds the same noise to me, and like i mentioned its deffinatly related to the throttle some how which makes me think of the fuel pump. Is it easy to change the fuel filter? Anyone else with a lupo Gti notice a pumping noise (like the one heard with the door opening) when the car is in use? ideas appreciated.
  17. Hi All, So its the fuel pump priming noise you hear when opening your drivers door right? I have recently noticed the same 'Pumping' noise while driving the car and think im hearing it a lot more than i used to!? Just to note: the noise stops if you change throttle position, ie, let off the gas. Do all Lupo Gti's have this pumping noise occasionally (in my case frequently) when driving? Any ideas? Thanks
  18. Were you able to replace the parts your self or did the garage do it, any idea on price? Thanks for the help...
  19. Good call, Just been and checked and no the interior light is not activated by the drivers door, but is with the locking and opening of all other doors.......****** the search goes on. How did you fix yours then? new parts....or is it caused with damp???
  20. Here goes: I noticed at the weekend that i had left my side lights on when i returned to my parked car, it seems that the 'chime' or tone or whatever that the car makes when you get out leaving the lights on is no longer working!? Plus also related to the drivers door sencer i presume..... When I unlock the car (lupo Gti) enter it through the drivers door, close it and wait 30 seconds the car locks itself and arms the alarm!? I know it is supposed to locks itself after 30 seconds, if you unlock and don't open a door but not when im inside it goddam!! I have experimented and it only re-locks itself once entered through the drivers door, the passanger door and boot work and dissable the automatic lock as normal, which makes me think its the drivers door sencer. Has any one else experianced these gremlins? Any ideas? Anyone know where the door sencer is? presume its in the door lock mechanism? Help appreciated.......Ta.

  22. I can completely understand your view, i seem to find alot of this, keep having to tell myself not to rise to it....as my girlfriend reminds me. not always easy though, silly ****s. I can only imagine they want to see how a hot hach actually performs!
  23. Yes it will need to be lowered to look good, had my Gti done 35mm on Koni sports and their great! If you want to keep standard shocks then dont go any more than 40mm on lowering springs unless your not bothered about foooking them. Theres a yellow Lupo on here somewhere thats lowered on Eibach springs and looks much better for it!
  24. Seen this around congleton too, pic.... border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  25. I always use http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/used-prices/ for my price guide.....? Will give you an idea, plus the model year and milage will mage a differance, looks sweet if you ask me!
