  1. Burn it! Lol. Im surprised people even still use the forums considering there's so many social media alternatives. Although the best people use this site
  2. Was it ever completed? Or has anyone found an alternative solution? Don't want to pay £50 for a set and waste my time finding out if I'm honest.
  3. Zzzzz and there's me thinking this was a site for people to share info in general dispite who's car it is. Its nice to know what people have done and haven't done so people can come up with new ideas. It gets a bit boring watching pointless squabbles instead of interesting car facts
  4. Seems to be a lot of 1.8t's about, would be nice to see something different like a powerful diesel as mentioned above with lots of torque and smoke. Was also thinking to myself the other day about the new Polo Gti TSI engines as they are pushing a lot of power for a standard 1.4 engine and being small they are light and should fit easier. As I was looking into throttle bodies or m45 charging mine I was thinking if it would be any easier to fit one of these. Love this thread guys, keep up the good work
  5. Sent some pics over. Only the 2 back sections from the flexi. Got the manifold, heat shield and all the bolts and fixings the garage took out but didn't bother taking pics of them. Keal.
  6. It doesn't look like any leaking coils or anything broken and when I push on the car it stops instantly. Keal.
  7. Thanks guys will have a closer look soon and see. Was more concerned whether it's usually like that or just mine but sounds like it's just natural. If I find anything on further investigation I will let you know Keal.
  8. Not bad, might look into getting mine done soon but kinda like the quirky noise it has
  9. But as the others have said get the same diameter of your current wheels and get a thinner tyre. Ask around for some free old tyres if you're not sure and try them on before you buy new ones as it will save you spending loads on the wrong ones. Keal.
  10. I'm running on 9j x16" rims on 215/35/r16 tyres and know a few people running on 205/40/16. It depends on the width of the wheels you have, standard width won't get you much stretch and it depends how much stretch you're looking for. I have quite a bit and no trouble with tyres popping off or any of these horror stories you hear, had them on for 2 years now with loads of potholes in my area. Keal.
  11. Gumtree, auto trader, piston heads, club Lupo classifieds, Facebook, eBay, do the free ones first stick it up at a similar or slightly higher price than all the ones of similar age, condition, mileage etc. If u get no interest then stick it on the ones that charge. Keal.
  12. I kept my old standard exhaust when I upgraded it. It may need a bit of welding but it's all there from manifold to tailpipe. Let me know if you're interested mate. (In Colchester Essex by the way) Keal.
  13. Still a work in progress
  14. Quick question. I drive a Gti with Kw V1 inox coilovers but the car feels incredibly bouncy even though I've had it raised up. The coilovers look in great condition other than the rears which the paint has started to peal on the springs and one of the adjusters is missing. Is this a genuine issue with lupos or is it something I should get looked at. I don't want to splash out on a new set of Kw's if I can help it. What else could be the issue? My partners golf mk4 is slammed and feels nowhere near as bad. Didn't know if it was because of the weight of the car though?? Thanks guys.
  15. Sorry guys I didn't even know you had written a response! Didn't get any notifications until now! I've got my car back and for now it's all gone on the credit card. And got my other box in bits in the shed. Apparently 1st and second gear are joint is that correct? And G_t_i I have read a lot of forums saying how good the gearboxes are and that they're much better than the polo ones but I have also read a few people have had issues with 1st gear. Personally I don't know whether I've had a lot of bad luck getting 2 gearboxes that are broken or whether it's common.
  16. I know it does seem like a really good offer and wish I knew sooner but perhaps I can arrange something with the second box. It's also a big risk to take sending 2 boxes off and £250 cash to someone I don't know lol already been messed about twice on Club Lupo for sales section.
  17. Cheers guys. Its already in the workshop being done but just feel im being overcharged. If i had more time i would have shopped around but the cars in the garage waiting on the MOT and they sent the gearbox off.
  18. My Lupo Gti 6 speed gearbox lost 1st gear, the synchro failed and took first out at the same time. The garage showed me it's £2000 to buy a new gearbox from Vw! I managed to find a second hand box not too far from me for £300 but once fitted to the car found out second gear didn't work on that one! So the garage sent the first box off to be reconditioned. I've been quoted £800+Vat to repair that box! So I asked to see if they could repair one box using the other to save on cost but apparently second gear is attached to first so still need to replace the part. Does anyone else feel this is rather expensive or is that actually the likely costs?
  19. I realise this post is ancient but only just found it its nice to find a bot more history and pictures of my car. I have made a lot of changes since and getting it back to a great condition with loads of extras all in good time and should be in some shows next year. Love the original wheels but look a bit big to me. Want to get the ICE back to that level too
  20. Hey guys. I'm currently running a pipercross carbon fibre cold air intake system in my lupo Gti as I swapped my BMC CDA with an old friend as I felt it had a bit more of a quality feel to the product. I am currently trying to tidy my bay up so looking at possibly fitting a Polo Gti engine cover and sitting a BMC in the airfilter gap as it looks nice (the pipercross is fatter and won't fit) but I was looking on their website and they now do a OTA version which is more oval in shape and has a trumpet style (apparently getting better gains) has anyone had any experience with these? Are they worth the extra? Also nice to be a bit different than the usual. Thanks, Keal.
  21. That and ive bought the grille from him too.
