  1. It certainly doesn't look right. Looks like I'll have to have it all apart at the weekend to try and find the problem :-(
  2. Hi all, I've got another question on my Lupo GTI... How tight should the panel gap be between the bumper and the bottom of the headlight? I've just had the front end resprayed to get rid of all the stone chips and the bodyshop have commented on the gap in front of the headlight as pictured below. I'm pretty sure it was like that when I took it in so I don't think it is their fault on reassembly. Is there any adjustment on the position of the headlight or the bumper that might close that gap a bit? I had the car surveyed when I bought it so I'm pretty confident it has never been pranged. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Cheers Joe
  3. Thanks for the input everyone, I've gone with 195/45s which will hopefully fill the arches nicely and ride OK. £52 a corner for Toyo T1-Rs from Demon Tweeks didn't seem too bad.
  4. I've just bought some 16" BBS alloys for my Lupo GTI which are 7.5j and ET35. I've seen a few are running 195/40/16 on this size wheel but my local mechanic reckons I risk damaging the alloys with 40s as the local roads are in pretty bad condition. The car is on standard suspension at the moment, would I have any clearance issues with 195/45/16s? The speedo difference seems tolerable at that size. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  5. Thanks for the replies, disappointing that they aren't a straight swap. Saved me finding out the hard way!
  6. Hi All, Just joined the forum having bought myself a 2005 Lupo GTI. Picking it up from Dublin on Friday, cant wait. I've bought the new chrome VW headlight switch and was wondering whether it would be possible to change the heater control knobs to match? Does anyone know if a) The heater control knobs on the Lupo are easily removed, and if the Mk8 Polo knobs would fit?? I've found the Mk8 heater controls on ebay, and although the panel wont fit, the controls look a similar size... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/09-12-VW-POLO-MK8-AIR-CON-HEATER-CONTROL-UNIT-MANUAL-WITH-KNOBS-BREAKING-/300774611498?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3APolo&hash=item4607905a2a Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers Joe
