  1. Looks like the centre section of the dash? Whats the process for vac-packing CF bits and pieces? Is it easier than without vac-pack?
  2. Thats what I was thinking, Vac-packed Carbon fibre rear interior panels. This car is going to be awesome, hats off to you!
  3. That was pretty cool, very original!
  4. I'm pretty sure they're called Kahn RS's or something along those lines edit: RS-S apparently
  5. Awesome work, the pic with the GTI in the background is stunning!
  6. There was a "royal fail" van at edition a couple of years ago, much more appropriate than royal nail IMO
  7. The majority of the pistonheads posts on the topic are very negative about how F1's going green and a 4-pot turbo goes against the image. If they get the same power from a smaller lighter engine, which will be just as loud, surely it'll just improve the show.
  8. Not a big write-up, but could be interesting if the world engine does go ahead! Pistonheads Link
  9. Awesome! "...being Muslim without due care and attention..." was my personal favourite bit!
  10. Read the Pistonheads write up of the first event and see you did well, Congrats!
  11. My girlfriends going to have a pretty decent Mk1 Arosa up for sale pretty soon for under £1k. Its not a looker, and is a 1.7SDI, but its a good reliable runner, you could do worse anyway.
  12. Most things will fit with a bit of effort. One of the guys on here is fitting TT rears in his GTI. click me!
  13. I bought a Gameboy Colour, and all the games upto Silver and Gold about this time last year for about £20! Then finished the red and blue and didn't get into the rest! Everythings sat on the shelf for about 9 months now!
  14. Got it, whacked it with a chisel and a hammer, no need to use the old one again so figured it was disposable. But she's stretched the cable Argh!
  15. Does anyone know how to seperate the door handle from the door card? My girlfriends snapped the lever on the inside of the door handle, and has been opening the door by the cable for the last month or so! Finally got round to getting a new part from seat (its on a Mk1 Arosa, not that it makes much difference) and the old part is glued into the door card. Tried hacking around it with a stanley knife, even warming the blade, but its still stuck firm? Anyone any ideas?
  16. Did you ever gave a damn in the first place Maybe it's time you had the tables turned 'Cause in the interest of all involved I got the problem solved And the verdict is guilty Man nearly killed me stepping where you fear to tread Stop drop and roll, you were dead from the get go Big mother****er, stupid cocksucker Are you scared of me now? Then you're dumber than I thought if any one knows that with out googlin HAPPY DAYS!!!!
  17. This doesn't come as any surprise to me, in my first year they beat everyone else by a few hundred quid (1300 compared to next best of around 1800) yet at renewal couldn't come close. My brother was the same in his first year of driving. Their logic seems totally out of sync with every other insurer.
  18. The first verse of Born on a Horse cracks me up, suppose studying engineering doesn't help! "I pronounce it aluminium 'cause there's an I next to the U and M now write it down slowly and read it out fast" The rest of the song is just a bit wrong! "shes got hoofs proposterious hoofs ive never had a lover who's my sister or my brother before"
  19. I thought I would have to be dead on with it, and thought it would be tricky to do, but it works every time with me, and I'm not the most coordinated person in the world!
  20. Cut the funding? We raise everything ourselves, I think the only funding we get is about £60 per team member, so around £720! Getting the sponsorship is one of the hardest parts of the project, but its amazing how many companies over you free bits, or a good discount. Ive designed carbon fibre/titanium driveshafts this year with 2 companies involved, and we're not paying anything for them. When we asked what value we should put on the sponsorship, they said "you won't be far wrong putting £10k down"!
  21. Based on 7 geometry I think, 400hp and a roof! Id prefer the Donkervoort, similar concepts.
  22. I am indeed! http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/sci/eng/meng/formulastudent/aboutus/teamw10/ ;o) What uni are you at? If you can get involved you definetly should, its the most practical thing that you could wish for at uni! Although you pay for it! At warwick it counts as 25% of the final year grade, but it takes up >90% of your time, its very work intensive!
  23. It would be a great uni project, what degree are you studying? We (at Warwick Uni) build a race car every year, and we probably have the facilities to do an engine conversion, but I doubt any of the lecturers would ever supervise a project as its got no academic worth. We haven quite a keen "green" motor sport group, with the WorldF3rst car and soon a hybrid Westfield, maybe trying to incorporate something "different" into the project would make it more academically worth while?
  24. Again, no particular order, perhaps getting more "dream" as the list goes down. 1. Audi S3 2. Supercharged Mk4 R32 3. Audi RS4 avant 4. Caterham R500 5. Radical SR8 6. VW Touareg R50 7. Porsche 911 Slant-nose Turbo 8. RR Phantom 9. Bugatti Veyron 10. Aston Martin One-77
