may i ask how selling your gti for 5.5k (assuming you got what you wanted for it) and buying a fabia vrs or ibiza etc will help you financially?? i dont mean to sound funny saying that. but it doesnt make sense to me. how much did you get for your gti in the end btw? and id prob cry if i sold mine. so you definately wouldnt be the only one

yeah i know what you mean. the trouble is even with measurements its hard to judge how big its going to look on the car. i want something that is literally the size of the roof. would like to have as little overhang as possible.

ive driven both the s1 and s2 rallyes and was a little disapointed with the s2's especially. the 1.3 rallyes on the otherhand felt like it warranted the rallye badge. although i dont think you can really compare either to a lupo gti. my friend has just bought a 106 gti, and even that i struggle to compare with the lupo. the lupo just has so much character, feels much nicer to drive and is built so much better. my lupo will edge my friends 106gti on the straights with corners being quite a close call with mine on coilovers and his as standard. Basically id drive a lupo gti and see what you think mate. they are definately very good little cars, that are good fun

cheers everyone appreciate the positive comments. the roof bars are about 110 from vw. anyone know where i can get a decent roof box? and any recommendations on a size to go for?

i get between 175 and 250 to a full tank of bp ultimate id say just over 200 seems about the average. after reading previous threads on it

haha s**t off!!thats what im thinking mate. if the loop is going around europe it will need a bit more storage space.i bet they wouldnt let you on the ring with a roof box on! be worth a try though cheers mate we shall see

loads i just want to try and do things that havent been done before but try not to ruin it. im really happy with the way its looking at the moment. the rest of the exhaust is the next task as now ive got xmas out of the way and the car has fresh tax on it. i should have a few decent months ahead financially. im thinking roof bars and roof box for the summer though. get the box sprayed as the car with the stripes down the side

dont forget my car i went for subtle ones down the side. similar to the mark 1 gti. although i didnt want ones as thick. check out my readers ride thread for more details. they have been on 12 months almost and still look good. im well chuffed with them tbh

well theres been a couple of new mods for start of 2008 ive finally got some german plates. ive put a polo rear wiper on. and ive actually got around to fitting some new door straps. its like having a brand new car Shes coming on abit now. hope you guys like
