  1. I thought it was pretty good, especially the Reliant part.
  2. Thanks very much lunalupi, thats a massive help Ive just got a quote through Sky for much less than my renewal price with Bell (£300 less!) Chris
  3. Actually there was a Morris Maria there yet, why someone has kept one ive no idea! Thought i had seen the reg before, but not sure. I did take a picture of it actually. Even has the phone number on it too, though i wont be ringing it
  4. Very nice looking car that. I went with Jon to have a look at it when it was for sale, must be a good 7-8 months ago now. Little garage in Stockton. The salesman just gave Jon the key and off we went, had quite a good run around. Its a very nice car
  5. Saw it driving out of the car park at the marina classic car show yesterday. Had for sale signs on.
  6. Well its renewal time and im in this situation again! Seems a lot of companies have stopped the drive other cars thrid party option, even for people over 25. Im still with Bell at the moment, who have stopped the driver other cars option now, so when i renew next month i wont be covered for other cars. I believe Quinn has also stopped this option too, they are very expensive now too. So im after some ideas please, anyone know of any other companies who offer driver other cars option for a 23 year old? Ive started looking after a few cars for firends and family, maybe 5 cars, we also now have 10 cars in our house and not being able to drive any other car but mine is going to be a right pain. Insurance company suggestions very welcome Chris.
  7. Seems a few people like their lupos from Northumbria uni! richie.guy, I saw a black GTi parked down Northumbria road one day, few months back, would that have been you? Also saw a modified black lupo parked at the end carpark, behind the new sports centre - which is where I park.
  8. I see that a few times, saw it yesterday in the same spot. BaileyVW, ive also seen yours a few times too.
  9. Ive seen this parked at uni once or twice now, looks really nice There is also a silver one which parks on the same street, not sure if thats anyones?
  10. Looks hideous, who in their right mind would want to be seen driving that. Id rather have a WagonR! Or an IQ for that matter, which are nasty too. Really dont understand this new micro car thing.
  11. I thought the worst when I saw those pictures, doesnt look possible to be able to survive that. Excellent that you got out with relitively minor injury given the accident, thats amasing. I think it was more good luck than a test of the cars strength, but it really did you well. Thank god you were not carrying any passengers.
  12. Thought id stick up a picture history of my cars since my last Arosa TDi, since this is my members cars thread. I had the C5 on the previous page for about 8 months, but its a bit wollowy that one, small wheels and an earlier model. So i then swapped cars with my sis, i got her 53reg 206 2.0HDi, which was good fun to drive and is a very capable handling car for a standard car. Though i was finding that too cramped. I then hunted high and low for another car, something quite large, with plenty of space, kit and was nice to drive. I traveled all over to view cars, but couldnt find much i liked. Anyway, my Citroen side kicked in again and just before Christmas i bought my limo! Its 2004 C5 2.0HDi VTR: Who says Toyo T1Rs are no good in the snow! I was getting places where few others were! This one drives very nicely, much sharper than my last C5 with it being a later model and having bigger wheels. I know these are an aquired taste and citroens are always ripped on here, but i really do like this car. Though it seems to have a never ending list of 'to dos' atm. However the C5 is on its best behavior since i got the arosa, its even returing 50MPG! So ive gone full circle with my cars, starting off with my black arosa TDi, then some C5s and back to a black TDi again. Very odd. Though the Seat is a great car, im wondering if im going to miss my C5, large car comforts are hard to give up im finding. So im keeping my C5 until i get used to this Arosa again. Here is another interior pic of the TDi: I was unsure about the silver interior trim at first too, but now i really like it. Getting back into the other arosa seems a little dull after being used to the silver details. You dont see many with it fitted, but i do like it now, brightens the place up!
  13. Cheers Thats true, ive thought of that. I might just remove them, looks a bit fiddly with all of the badging. This one even has the little S trim badge, which my other one didnt.
  14. Im not sure if dark repeaters wuld suit that colour, they might. Mine has the clear crystal ones on, look quite smart. I bought a stubby aerial for a C5, though im sure ive heard people fitting these to seats on the seatcupra forums. Look the same fitting anyway. I think Lupo rears only suit red Arosas, though thats my opinion, for every other colour i prefer the Arosas lights. After all, they help define the rear as an Arosa!
  15. Your brakes might have corroded over the past year, with the weather, salty roads and cold days. If you dont use the car every day then brake discs can become corroded. If your light on the brakes you might not get the corrosion off. Oil, i always buy it from the dealer, you would be amased how cheap it is! Unless your buying cheapo oil/water from a motorfactors, then dealers are about the best place for quality oil, and you know your getting the right stuff. Also a good place to get the filters. If im sending my car in for a service, then id buy the bits before hand and get them to do the work, then i know its getting quality parts fitted. Im taking the 1.0 Arosa for MOT on friday, should hopefully pass without problems, it always does. However its front brakes are looking a bit worse for the weather too, ill have to go and give them some abuse before the MOT. I hope it passes anyway, as its current mot runs out on saturday.
  16. This is very odd, bit scary how people can see your house, etc. Cant be good for security! Found my house, must have been last summer as my then car is on my drive with different wheels on, ready to go to france. I must have been almost on the picture, as the garage door was open i must have been around.
  17. I know! Im just thinking of handling, though that will be in the distant future if i do. See i can cope with yours, i just have to remember to avoid any bumps and dont park over curbs Hmm maybe, but it looks odd with just the TDi badge, and i like the red Di. All or nothing ...
  18. Cheers, good to see your old TDi has gone to a good home Yes, thats something isnt it Cheap road tax and 60MPG, excellent. Im very pleased with this one, would have rather had a different colour so it didnt look the same as my last, but its a good colour when clean.
  19. There might be some modifications along the way, subtle ones. Definitely want a rear ARB, possibly lowering but only on eibach springs, ill see what its like when i get the arb. Though im just getting it looking and working how i want for now. Im still using my other car this week, just waiting to get the number plate changed on the Seat. I got some Seat mudflaps today, its looking better with them. Also did a bit of cleaning on the interior too. Here are a few more pictures: Im trying to decide if i should debadge the rear or not, it would look much smoother but i like having a TDi badge. Sets it apart from the 1.0s!
  20. Yup, im pleased with how its turned out, took me all day though! I dont know how i got them so cheap, they must have reduced them You should get some for your mums while they are available.
  21. Yes, really are nippy, i had wheel spin in 1st, 2nd and 3rd the other day! Tyres were a bit rubbish though. It really does perform well as a standard car in my opinion, keeps up well in the outside motorway lane. With a remap they are brilliant, so much more top end pull and better MPG! Yes, little wollowy in the bends, though not too bad. An Awesome ARB is on my list too, should improve things, not sure if im lowering mine, might do, just on eibach springs if so. This is my second TDi, so im planning on doing a few more things to this one, which i should have done to my last one. Will probably fit cruise again too. All in good time Some of the later clear side retpeaters would look good on yours I think Citroen C5 stubby aerials fit Arosas dont they? I got one from ebay for about £5. Very short and black. Shame your getting rid of the Arosa lights though, big red lupo ones will look a bit odd
  22. I noticed one thing though, no remap on your list of to do's! They are pretty great cars, im just enjoying one again.
  23. Your Arosa is looking very nice, as i said in your other thread, its a great colour Looks much better without the badges, very clean looking.
  24. Just replaced mine yesterday. Bit of a pain getting the bulb out, but its a real easy job. Just dont crush the bulb!
  25. Well im pretty impressed with my new TDi. When i picked it up the paintwork was really looking awful, loads of swirls, minor scratches and looking very dull. Today ive cleaned it, clayed it (never seen so much crap come off with a clay bar before), paint cleaned it and polished it, its really shiney now, looking much better. There is the odd scratch as you would expect but this one seems to have less chips and scratches than my last one, which is nice. I also prefer this metallic black to the flat black too. However, there is still the front bumper, which has a few scuffs and a slight mark on the wing. So ill get it into a bodyshop at some point for that, but the rest is looking much better now. Will need to do somehting with its front wheels too, seems its last owner was a little too fond of curbs. Yesterday i got it a pair of tyres, as its front were down on the markers. Went for some Continental Premium contacts. I love these tyres on Arosas, they really grip well, even in the wet, i cant find anything which performs better actually. Not in this size anyway. Though im a bit annoyed as i just got some for the 1.0 Arosa about a month ago and paid £155 for the pair, i got these, exactly the same tyre, size and from the same place, for £128! Oddly this TDi has a private reg too, however this is being removed soon and going back to the previous owner. Hopefully in the next few days as i dont like this reg. Then it will be back on its 03 plates. I dont have my old MPG reg now, though if i had i wouldnt be putting it on, would be a little odd. Might get it a private reg at some point though. Slowly starting to get things done with it. Going to give it a service this week, as i doubt it has the PD oil in. Good spray of intake cleaner through it and some deisel treatment in with its fuel too. Need to get it some mudflaps, much prefer the looks with them, finishes it off a bit. Cant decide if i should debadge the rear or not, quite like having the TDi badge!
