  1. what about that dark berry colour often seen on the corrados? that polished up looks amazing style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> wayne
  2. Yes you can fit them i used tohave them in my arosa till i put the full TT interior in very good seats but NO they are not easy to fit by any means wayne
  3. unfortunately Yes, mine corroded after a couple of months, the powdercoat on the centre is a good quality job, the lathe job on the rims is also quite good but the quality of the laquer is extremely poor style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> wayne
  4. Mate there is plenty to choose from, dont get into this whole 'rareity' idea in your head they arent as rare as people make out, just in some cases you will have to travel to get the car you want Black and silver especially are the more common colours, with red, raven and anthracite being rareist respectively, aircon is also rare but is nice and often wanted option at resale, climate and leather are very rare so is a nice option to have i would always be swayed more to genuine lower millage more so than reg but depnds whether your a reg snob as many are style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> always do a HPi check or if from a dealer get them to do one and make sure you have an in depth look at it no matter what they say, dont be put off by crash repaired vehicles just look out for the best car you can afford, in many cases you will get alot for your money if your not a reg snob and are prepared to have a Catagorised car, there is many Cat'd show cars so dont get this theory that their crap in your head £5700 for a 51 plate on that miles is dear, id be thinking 4500 max even at a dealer but depends what part ex you get as it may sweeten the deal wayne
  5. No offence here but your quick summarisation is what puts people of crash repaired vehicles, i have done many and all to a good standard as all have been for mine or close familys use, the last one in fact was for my brother and he has always carried his young son in it since his birth and i wouldnt dream of risking my nephews life if i thought the car was unsafe it wouldnt leave my drive the fact is they used a very poorly repaired car against an original one and as i have said many times before if you have no experience of qualification in doing body repair then DO NOT buy a crash repairable as this is what cause the death traps on the roads, that and the tests carried out after are crap to keep on the same subject many will have seen the minis or in daz's case lupo with the backend of the car cut out and a bike engine put in its place totally altering the car to quite an extent, the driven wheels, drivetrain the lot is changed now nearly all of these cars require no test to be done and with many insurers even an engineers report isnt needed so no one will be checking there quality of work i too have reported but usual crap ebay they are too interetsed in the selling fees to worry about someone getting ripped off or killed, i cant begine to imagine how sever the accident was to be a cat B that 100% insurance loss IIRC so either way it had a hell of a lot replaced wayne
  6. to be honest max thats actualy looking quite good style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" /> although as expected it is quite slab sided remind me again what wheels its going to be running? ronals IIRC? and although it kinda looked right before the exhaust now looks quite out of place, you thinking of changin this at all? good luck with it wayne
  7. we sure that reports right? its 'meant' to be imposible to get hold of cat B car for the simple reason the vehicle gets picked up by any insurance company or garage as soon as the assesro declares it as a B unlike a cat C where you can buy the salvage, a B should be stripped of parts like take the engine out etc and then the rest taken away if the report is right someone needs to report it as due to the colour the car is attracting alot of attention and i would hate to see someone get ripped off to that extent wayne
  8. one you got a lot for your money and good build quality, the other you got ripped off no offence to you here Andy i know you still love your gti but every time i see one for sale although i like them you get stuff all for your money, the steering feel is crap and the panda i feel is better although it is false when really pressing on hard and Yes the Panda i drove hadnt even covered 2k miles yet after not even 10 minutes i was ragging it round to the limiter with ease style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> totally different than tigra 1.8 16v exclusiv i drove the day before which although on 7k miles still felt tight like it was still wearing in style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> i have 3 cars now (had 4 last week) 2 are minis and 1's the arosa which is great but when i want to get work having fun i go in the mini's, everyone at work hates them and thinks im mad for driving them instead of the arosa BUT my point? people show off too much and snobbery is getting more and more common, at work they see im in a 53 plate arosa and there fine, see im in an e plate or P plate mini and they think im mad, they dont care which is quicker, handles better, gives more enjoyment or inded which is the better car wayne
  9. Still a nice car Max, like jon i think it will be too smooth to be honest and end up slab sided, with the skirts it would of distracted the eyes away from this and i did think you were replacing these not remving them totally? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> also having seperate top and smoothed bottom bumpers like mine was what made yours stand out and to be honest looked much beter than carters full smoothed examples style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> maybe ill feel different when i see it all in paint but at the moment im not too keen, either way if you like it then thats all that really matters and its good to see your still keeping the project going and not giving up like others style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="whistle.gif" /> so good luck with it and get more photos especially the painting pics wayne
  10. Hi Gareth i have replied on clio sport net to save Bubbles thread getting filled with clios style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> oh sorry too late style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflmao:" border="0" alt="roflmao.gif" /> wayne
  11. same as cardaft saids really it should have all been done at 60k (does histroy prove this?) but for piece of mind on that millage id be doing oil filter and new oil (quality not the cheap crap garages can get in barels) fuel filter air filter (could go after market while your there?) glow plugs (not cheap but will make a difference) pollen filter (just below scuttle many dealers especially forget them) and again a proper check of the brakes and suspension, id bet on at least 1 or 2 shocks being dead especialy the rear its a common fault and is only diagnosed when someone is in the back or you can feel the back end isnt as taught brakes, especially behind of the discs both mine and mums have for some reason corroded on the back of the discs so check this on yours, if anything feels at all worn then replace the parts arent that expensive and the car will feel totally different when done my car is only now on 18k miles and i had it at 8800 and did a service at just under 15k and it made such a difference then wayne
  12. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> yeah always loved them and a little while ago the lad i brought my corsa sport off got a 172, anyway other day it lost all drive they replaced the clutch and it drives now but box whines and he wants silly money again but after seeing him flying about in that and last weekend when me and my mate test drove a pug gti 180 which he liked that much he has picked it up this afternoon style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> it showed me what a real hot hatch is like as im sure bubbles will agree the arosa/lupos are a great car (and they are) but the 172/182's are such a different breed in every respect its so much more focused its a proper hot hatch with the pace to match and they impress me in every respect which as i said in PM the lupo gti didnt style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> back to the thread (sorry bubbles) whats the idea this is your daily driver and clio is the show car/weekend toy? wayne
  13. thats more truthful style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> do think you have made the right choice Andy, the panda is one of very few cars that impressed me in nearly every way and when you add in the good price which alone sets it apart and the stealth looks youve got quite a tidy car the c2 VTs is a very good car and always feels lively, the whole drive feels smooth yet quick but the interior feel and quality is a downfall that and the fact the quality doesnt apparently last that well and a saxo is miles quicker, i also was severely disapointed with the swifts so left them well alone im surprised you didnt much for a look at the sportka it is quite frankly one of the best little hatchs you can buy and i found it so much better than both the gtis i have driven style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> the one that you test drove isnt the one i sent you in PM a while ago is it? wayne
  14. not registered just yet im just browsing mostly the for sale section style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> , i was having a 172 at the start of the week but now the box is stuffed on that im looking at others although i have pretty much set my heart on a trophy but i wouldnt mind a tidy liquid yellow 182 like yours but they seem stupidly rare style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> or like one in the trader a few weeks back they go for stupid money due to the apparent rareity wayne
  15. Its enough work to do the heater matrix on my mini i would hate to be doing it on the arosa, looks a nice tidy car though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> and bubbles are you the bubbles of cliosport.net by any chance? if so damn nice car wayne
  16. My Arosa border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> wayne
  17. As title a pure white Seat arosa Mk1, lowered on what klooked to be 14's and had an after market exhaust with a chrome heat shield i saw it in kidsgrive by the cop station and then followed you and nailed it past style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> and my brother and dad have spotted it four times all together in congleton so assume that where its from anyone on here? wayne
  18. nimbus is a nice colour but as you said yourself, has already been done i really think it would have looked good in purple especially amaranth but each to their own oh and as above what colour is the bay? wayne
  19. yeah but from what i have read/heard he did most of the work or nearly all of it im guessing there is some really tricky parts to do it as half that price has got to be labour the chargers etc even new arent that stupidly expensive style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> wayne
  20. been waiting for an update on this one darren will be so god when its finnished Just my thoughts here but is the roll cage horizontal bars not too far forward? i havent been in the arosa for a while (driving Mini's) but i swear in my TT seats i sit just inline with the B pillar and id imagine its even more so with your bucket seats which would mean you cant go back enough and leave space between the frame? Darren this weight loss obsesion has got to stop your going too far style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflmao:" border="0" alt="roflmao.gif" /> good luck as always wayne
  21. not a bad price if it runs and drives nice? and mines 14.2 with the manual box so if we calculate the transmision losss the same then with a sport engine it would be roughly 11.5 0-60 which for the work (ecu, loom etc etc) i dont think its worth the gain good news though the 1.4 MPi as you will know is common as hell in the mk4 polo so youll always be able to get a spare style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> and have no excuse for a conversion style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> wayne
  22. looking excellent as always, without doubt the best non gti car on here IMO well done wayne
  23. As others have said andy personally i would go with a non lupo colour as no offence here but if you were at e38 for example and parked next to dash people passing by would just think you have a different bumpers and wheels you said you liked purple? i have just got another car (yes i have as many as you now) its a Rover mini equinox LE and is rover Amaranth pearl its a heavily pearlescent purple which flips to dark metalic blue its georgeous colour and really shows the lines of the car i think it would look great on your lupo if you had a good job done border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> and then click this and clikc onthe pics on the right to see them large PURPLE EQUINOX wayne
  24. storm may do a kit? they are offering the conversion they did on pauls lupo at £5k so assume they may do a kit for a hefty amount cheaper with out all the labour? wayne
  25. suppose you do need all the help you can get in them style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflmao:" border="0" alt="roflmao.gif" /> wayne
