  1. It hangs lower. The gti kit doesn't just bolt on, don't be fooled. The arches are wider and the front is a completely different setup. The reiger one posted above is what you would be looking at as the closest alternative. Have you thought about insurance, companies have a field day on premiums for 17yr old lads on any car, then with modifications they pretty much laugh in your face. Just a heads up! Edit: best advice would be to leave it looking as a 1l, and search the forum for exactly your answer, because the gti kit on a 1l is asked regularly.

    wheels!

-ve offset alley cats will poke think they are et -7, try to avoid those! The others are still low offset and will poke. Check readers rides a few people have alley cats
  3. Awesome loop, can't beat the oem votex spoiler, finishes the rear off perfectly!
  4. Ha, spacers and adapters sound bad enough on paper, probably wouldnt end well
  5. Best bet would be to swap adapters for ones which are 10mm thicker
  6. They will fit no bother Koop! 165/40 or 45 and you will be sorted The backs will need spacing 10mm for flushness
  7. Can't help without offsets I'm afraid. Go on willtheyfit.com and you will be able to play with tyre sizes
  8. Learnt it now mate, nothing else to it simples!
  9. I'm guessing your wheels are standard 6.5" wide with 0.5" lips, if so: adding bigger lips (0.5" - 1.5") will change the ET mate, it's where the mounting face sits in relation to the inner and outer beads. As the wheel gets wider (lips) the centre line of the wheel is moved towards the outside, hence lowering the ET as the centre line moves closer to the mounting face. Hope that makes sense. Every 1" you add to the lips is 13mm off the offset. Edit: so your wheels will be be the same as the ones on Kents, at the rear at least!
  10. Here's his thread on edition: http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=385993&st=100 Are yours et33 before the 1.5" dishes? So would be et20 with them.
  11. Has KentGTI not got those specs on? Might be mistaken though!
  12. Really? I would have thought sub 2k, you can get a very decent sport for that!
  13. Go staggered if you can! 7's will go on the front no problem 8's will go on the back with a touch of camber and arch rolling
  14. Gti grill doesn't fit. There is the kamei grill, no badge, and the abt grill with badge. There isn't alot of choice, abt looks nice IMO!
  15. Big badges ftw, try to make the car look small as possible. I went for a oversized plate too!
  16. Depends where it's rubbing! If it's arch liner it will eventually burn through! What size tyres and wheels are you running?
  17. They are made by oz racing, i believe they were originally fitted to TVR's. Edit: here you go: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Alloy-Split-Rim-TVR-Wheels-fit-400-SE-/251052058415?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item3a73de672f
  18. Thats what i thought, was always skeptical about riding aired up, especially on a diesel mk4!
  19. Do you have the one on orange/yellow wheels down the bank near the mot centre? If so I see your car all the time, i can't help unfortunately!
  20. Do you see the point that everyone has made now?
  21. Love this car How are you finding the stance solutions kit? I am very tempted to take the plunge for the mk4 so I can show drop the front and raise it back for driving
  22. Edit bit of a photbucket fail there!
  23. That would be awesome!! My one would be the turning lights in the sport fogs like the new audis and vw's. Should be quite simple to do also!
  24. Anything can fit with some cutting etc., will be a case of trial and error with the fox I suppose as I don't think many have modded one. I believe there was an abt front bumper option if you wanted to go that route.
  25. Speaks sense really, but as said its upto you! Also are you still planning on the Audi style front bumper from the body kit thread?
