Till now this web page has been very useful for my ideas, and i am very gratefull for that.The thing that i would like also to have on my car would be a Disk&Pads brake system that would replace the standard cylinder one.Did anyone do this? nfbr Posted December 10, 2006 Report Share Posted December 10, 2006 Are you 100% shure about this? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> ... if i would have to do that, can you tell me the costs of that?Right, I've looked into it, and it is possible to change from drums to discs without swapping the entire beam...However its more economical to get a full beam, and either fit it in one go, or swap all the bits over one at a time.To fit rear discs you will need...Hoses, Brake Cable, Calipers, Carriers, Pads, Discs, Wheelbearing/Hub kits, Left and right Stub Axels, the caliper mounting plate, and the random peice of tin that sits beihind the disc. willcrook Posted December 12, 2006 Report Share Posted December 12, 2006 Yeah that's them,I recently bought a gti after two years of tdi ownership (and hard breaking!)and good as the g88's are, they are useless when compared to the gti.Whether this is down to the gti having rear discs or abs i'm not sure.
